There is one reported case in Hua Hin. A Chinese woman entered either Bangkok Hosp. or San Paolo Hosp. with a temp. of 38 degrees. Her high blood pressure was exacerbating the symptoms. She was treated and is recovering.

I would guess that she didn't have the virus. 38, although high doesn't quite fall into the 'fever' category.
But every case as such needs to be investigated in the current situation.
It's reported that many cases are much less severe than happened with the SARS virus with most people recovering on their own.
There are treatments for illnesses caused by 2019-nCoV (denoted by WHO) such as pneumonia, but no vaccines for the virus itself.

Is this heresay or fact? Source? Recovering - already?

Please clarify - we don't need to be the source of scaremongering.

The WHO in their first survey pegged the mortality rate of Sars at 11% but later there is a feeling that it was more like 14%. That means that 86% of patients infected did NOT die. There was an age difference, mortality being higher in older patients.

Hmmmm........ probably scaremongering. Nothing that can be substantiated.

If there are any further such reports, please quote your source, or we will have to delete. Facebook, etc can not be taken as a reliable source.

Thai social media
Yeh, that says it all.

Regarding the virus, someone just raised a point to do with the airports.
It's already been accepted that you can catch this virus from touching a surface that an infected person has touched. A good chance of catching the disease if you then touch your face/eyes/nose etc.

So how safe are the fingerprint scanners at the airport. Thousands of people have to pass through them.

I have done that, and read through the first 5 hits - no mention of the Corona virus having been confirmed in Hua Hin.

Please guys, we have to avoid scaremongering. Some sad people thrive on spreading fear.

Can we please return to real news about this virus.

[Edit] The nearest thing I can find is an advisory letter being circulated to Hua Hin hotels asking them to be vigilant.

Yes, whilst it makes sense to take precautions, for most people this is not deadly, it won't even put you in hospital. It's just dangerous for those who are already vulnerable to any lung infection by way of age or illness.
