I see that there are now 11 deaths outside of China.

Thailand remains static at 35 cases with 17 recovered and putting them at 7th in the 'league table'.

These flu deaths don't mean much, one should have the percentage. There are perhaps millions of infected, many don't go to a doctor, so the percentage is certainly very low.

It's very difficult to measure in terms of mortality % as it can vary from one year to the next. Percentages have ranged from 0.1% to 20% (1918 pandemic)
Currently, this from the WHO:
The World Health Organization estimates that worldwide, annual influenza epidemics result in about 3-5 million cases of severe illness and about 250,000 to 500,000 deaths.
That gives a death percentage around 10%, but only of cases of severe illness. Deaths can be counted but almost impossible to count cases of 'flu. How many go to the docs with 'flu symptoms. Normally treated at home.
This year is expected to be high due to a worse than usual mismatch in the vaccine.

Health minister attempts to allay fears over planned COVID-19 dangerous infectious disease designation
Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has asked members of the public to stay calm over the ministry’s proposal to designate COVID-19 as Thailand’s 14th dangerous infectious disease.

In his Facebook post today, the minister said that the proposal, which he and the Infectious Disease Control Committee is yet to endorse, is intended to support medical personnel performance in containing the spread of coronavirus and to provide legal cover for official actions.

He said that members of the Infectious Disease Control Committee are senior doctors, who have experience in coping with infectious diseases, adding that people can still pursue a normal life.

The minister explained that the designation of COVID-19 as a dangerous infectious disease would empower authorities to impose necessary measures, such as a lockdown of a town or a community to screen the people there.

He disclosed that Thailand has already designated 13 dangerous infectious diseases, such as SARS and MERS, and has been successful in containing their spread.

No good news today with deaths outside of China rising to 15. Experts seem to be split on their predictions from "It's expected to peak at the end of March/April" to "The danger of it becoming a pandemic is real and could infect up to 60% of the world population"

Coronavirus incubation could be as long as 27 days, Chinese provincial government says.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - A 70-year-old man in China’s Hubei Province was infected with coronavirus but did not show symptoms until 27 days later, the local government said on Saturday, meaning the virus’ incubation period could be much longer than the presumed 14 days.

A longer incubation period could complicate efforts to contain spread of the epidemic that has so far killed more than 2,000 people and spread outside China.

The man, only identified by his family name, Jiang, on Jan. 24 drove his car back to Shennongjia, in northwestern Hubei, from eastern Ezhou, where he had close contact with his sister, who had been infected, according to the government website of Hubei, the virus epicenter.

He had a fever on Feb. 20 and tested positive for coronavirus a day later, according to the government statement.

With their very long border with China, North Korea may be in full epidemic and the outside world wouldn't know about it.

Keep your eyes open though when reading News as something will be mentioned sooner or later.

There was a report here in the states that all prior Covid-19 figures did not include the prisons so todays caught that up.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control on Friday said the 83-year-old American woman who was on the ship actually didn't have coronavirus, despite earlier tests that came back positive in Malaysia.

So the passengers were clear as was first reported! It does raise the question of the validity of the tests in some places. This woman, according to Malaysian authorities was tested positive twice!

This link comes from a Wuhan corona virus patient.
Heaps of pics if you scroll through the script.
The group medics shot by the patient must have a sub story if you notice the solitary seated medic in the background.

After reading/watching that link and considering the situation in China, I was impressed by the hospital. The care looks very good and even the meals were better than I would have expected.

 to all the medical staff who are risking their own wellbeing.
