Hua Hin accommodation recommendations needed

Hi

Been a regular visitor to Thailand for many years now but never visited Hua Hin - took the plunge and booked for September - flying from Manchester in the UK to Bangkok via Oman Air with a change at Muscat.

Looking for advise on somewhere to stay - looking for somewhere good quality but reasonably priced (to give you a guide my last trip to Pattaya I stayed at the Chaiyapoon Hotel for 575 Baht a night.

Would be grateful for any recommendations.

Just noticed your post. There are many nice hotels in HH one I def will not go back to is Peony hotel great location but that is it about 530 baht a night around September I stayed there last year hotel rooms are so old. Poor lighting small room bathroom horrible mouldy smell hot water useless towels and bath mat my god worst I have seen so old and all falling apart.cant believe anybody stays here some guys stay for 6 months? Staff are all friendly pool is ok, this September I will pay a bit more and stay at the Visa Hotel for 880 baht booked a month ago.

I'm bookied into the Visa Hotel which seems to be a decent mid-range place, close to most things. If anyone has experience of it and wants to share.... all greatly appreciated:)

Stayed there a few nights once last year. Next door to Villa market. We have a car so can't speak about public transport but, being where it is, should be no problem.

Nice, clean rooms and property, pool clean also. Breakfast came with our room and was fine. I don't like the hot dog sausages and asked, and got, extra bacon so fixed menu but changes available.

Our rooms a/c leaked so they had to move us next door, no problem.

Would definitely stay there again, nothing special, but clean and good location.

Stayed at Visa Hotel for a week in December last year.
Nice rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast was basic and not included with room. I only went to breakfast a couple of times. It was about 2 or 3 hundred baht ftom memory but I found much better choices outside.
Easy walk to town, about 20 minutes to night Market. Baht bus always seemed to be 100 around town if to hot to walk.
Soi 80 just around corner, 5 minutes and hotel GF.
7/11 also close by.

Update on Peony hotel, this hotel has closed as of the 15th of this month. Rental contract not renewed? By the lady who claimed to be the owner? A mate living over there says hotel. Restaurant and massage shop attached to print all closed, hotel being gutted, Reno or demolish?

Seems that [Mod Edit] Name removed, the owner, wasn’t paying rent to the landowner for over a year and is in arrears for sum that is hard for me to believe; 6,000,000฿, according to a girl who worked there. [Mod Edit] Name removed took what she could and left. Yes, the Peony is boarded up and empty. The attached restaurant, Blue Viking, and massage shop were also casualties. My girl was renting and running the bar space, but saw the writing on the wall and ended operations after the New Year.
