WARNING! Singapore Study Shows That Covid-19 Patients Could Be Misdiagnosed For Dengue Due To False Positive In Dengue Serological Tests
It is also interesting to note that in Thailand, in the case of a 35 year old Thai male who died from the SARS-CoV-2, it was reported in the media that doctors had initially been treating him for Dengue.

Interesting. Europeans are more likely to be O or A, whereas Thais are more likely to be O or B.

Off topic somewhat: thailandmedical.news mentioned by HHTel above includes a plea for donations, which includes the following passage:

"We are basically a Thai medical mediatech and general mediatech startup that has never received any support from any entities in Thailand due to the prevalence of nepotism, corruption and also ego and incompetence on the part of certain senior executives and also the fact that Thais do not know how to collaborate and work together!"

Not what you normally see in a request for support.

I missed that!
It does, however, have a very good collection of reports from various sources, some of which you wouldn't be aware of under normal browsing.

[Breaking] Thailand confirms 60 new cases of coronavirus; largest single day climb since outbreak began

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health said on Thursday that it had discovered 60 more coronavirus cases; the largest increase over a 24-hour period since the outbreak began in January.

The new cases brings the country’s total to 272 confirmed cases.

Among the new cases, 43 stemmed from a previously-known boxing match, entertainment venues in Bangkok and close proximity with known patients.

The 17 remaining cases came from returnees from abroad, a news reporter and a gym trainer.

“There has been a dramatic rise in cases but more than half of Thailand’s numbers can be traced to two events, a boxing match and a night of partying among friends,” said Dr Suwanchai Watanayingcharoenchai. “These people not only caught the disease but went back to their homes and their provinces and ignored our guidelines. They are putting the public at risk.

Partial shutdown across the country

On Wednesday, the partial shutdown of Bangkok was enforced. Clubs, bars, sporting events, were shuttered until the end of March to help fight against the outbreak. Schools and Universities were closed indefinitely with classes moving online.

The government said that it would leave the decision outside Bangkok for provincial governments to decide but already local governments seemed to be following suit. Phuket announced late Tuesday that it would close its entertainment venues. Other tourist areas are expected to join in the shutdown.

The problem with this app, as helpful as it is, is that it's compiled from various news stories and hospital press releases and the like. No contribution from the Govt.

The test that is being used at the present is to diagnose Corona is performed by identifying Viral fragments in swabs taken from nasal secretions. This is not the way that viral diseases are usually identified. Diagnosis is usually made by identifying ANTIBODY presence in the blood. This indicates that the virus has invaded and the body has reacted and made antibodies to eliminate the virus. It may take 1-3 weeks for the antibodies be detectable by the test. These antibodies then stay around for at least a year, sometimes for life and indicate that the patient has been exposed to the virus and now is immune..
Good news-- an antibody test is being developed and is in use in.S'pore.
This will be useful as many people are having either a very mild attack or an asymptomatic attack. These patients if tested later will be found to have the antibody are immune and will be able to leave isolation as they cannot infect anybody. This could be useful as many people could fall into this category and they will be able to go back to work etc. (Perhaps they should be given a badge) to wear) There is a small caveat--if the virus should make a significant mutation the antibody may not recognise the "new" virus.

if the virus should make a significant mutation
It already has. The virus attacking Europe is a mutated version of the covid-19 in China. There have already been reports of cases that have recovered then been infected again.
“I think it’s a fact that there are two strains,” says Erik Volz at Imperial College London. “It’s normal for viruses to undergo evolution when they are transmitted to a new host.”

It is vital to know how many strains of the virus exist. Around the world, multiple groups are working on a vaccine for the virus. Any vaccine will need to target features that are found in both strains of the virus in order to be effective.
This is one link but there are others:
https://www.newscientist.com/article/22 ... re-deadly/

It's unknown how long new antibodies will remain in the body. Antibodies created by the coronavirus causing the common cold do not last very long but those created from MERS and SARS have been found to be in the body years after infection.

Calls for lockdown mount
Six former House and Senate speakers have called on the government to put the country under lockdown and ban entry to foreign travellers.

Two former Senate speakers, Suchon Chaleekrua and Nikhom Wairatpanich, presented the proposal on Thursday to Parliament President Chuan Leekpai who promised to forward it to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The proposal was raised at a meeting attended by the six former speakers. Four others who support the proposal are former House speaker Arthit Ourairat, former Senate speakers Sanit Worapanya, Gen Thiradej Meepian, and Prasopsuk Boondej.

Mr Suchon said the former speakers wanted parliament to convene a special session to discuss ways to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic as it is a national emergency.

The former speakers agreed that parliament should be used as a mechanism to solve problems related to the virus which has gripped the country, Mr Suchon added.

Prayut has pretty much done that with the latest impossible requirements and his recent rant in front of reporters.
