Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)
What is being tested for at the moment is presence of the virus, that is appropriate.
However, we know that many people get the virus and have no symptoms or very mild ones. BUT these people will develp the Antibodies and are immune. So soon we will be testing for antibodies and hopefully MANY people will be found to have protection. Eventually there may be a herd immunity.

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Only a theory at the moment. Only time will tell just how long any 'immunity' will last. There are other viruses that, having been afflicted, gives immunity for long periods, sometimes years. 'Flu, for example only gives short term immunity due to the ongoing mutations of the virus.
Hopefully, antibodies produced by the corona virus will give good immunity and for a long period. That of course is the basis for a vaccine.

I've noticed that Thailands daily new cases are steadily rising, yesterday 109, thus far today 143.
I would hate to say that if infections keep on rising we could be in for harsher measures.
Stay safe

This tells a story in itself.....
"Dutch GPs are phoning elderly and at-risk patients to check if they are willing to take the risk of dying at home in case they get Covid-19, so that their hospital bed can be taken up by someone with better survival chances, the Volkskrant newspaper reported."

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)
I've noticed that experts and journalists have started saying "died with" the virus, rather than died of/from. Much more accurate IMO.
This is the way

Hundreds are dying in Iran from drinking methanol after fake news spread that it can kill covid-19. Whoops!

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)
It has to be said that anyone making an unqualified remark about a particular drug that appears to fight the coronavirus will cause someone to die. Trump flouted the chloroquine which caused a couple to take the drug. Consequently one died. There may be more such cases.
The US state many times that the early closing off of China saved millions of lives. Italy closed all traffic to and from China before the US and much more vigorously and we know what's happened there.
Comparing two countries, the US and South Korea. I mention it because the US says time and time again that they've done much more than South Korea.
Both countries identified their first cast at the same time, Jan 29/30th. When you look at today's stats, the US has 141,169 cases (a jump of 17,551) and 2,458 deaths (a jump of 238).
You would expect South Korea to be similar. However:
S. Korea has 9,583 cases (a jump of 105) and 152 deaths (a jump of +8)
Thailand currently has 1,388 cases (up by 143) and 7 deaths (up by 1)

Maybe, hiring a taxi? Under normal circumstances there are quite a few, I don't know if they'll go now but it's worth checking into. Usually 1500 to 2000 bht, one way. You could probably bargain with them as I doubt that many people are traveling and they need the business, that is if there are still in business.
Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Take a look at page 64 of this thread, the decree informs you about inter province travel.

Estimates Show Wuhan Death Toll Far Higher Than Official Figure
As authorities lifted a two-month coronavirus lockdown in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, residents said they were growing increasingly skeptical that the figure of some 2,500 deaths in the city to date was accurate.
Since the start of the week, seven large funeral homes in Wuhan have been handing out the cremated remains of around 500 people to their families every day, suggesting that far more people died than ever made the official statistics.
"It can't be right ... because the incinerators have been working round the clock, so how can so few people have died?" an Wuhan resident surnamed Zhang told RFA on Friday.
"They started distributing ashes and starting interment ceremonies on
Monday," he said.
Seven funeral homes currently serve Wuhan -- a huge conurbation of three cities: Hankou, Wuchang and Hanyang.
Social media users have been doing some basic math to figure out their daily capacity, while the news website Caixin.com reported that 5,000 urns had been delivered by a supplier to the Hankou Funeral Home in one day alone -- double the official number of deaths.
Some social media posts have estimated that all seven funeral homes in Wuhan are handing out 3,500 urns every day in total.
Funeral homes have informed families that they will try to complete cremations before the traditional grave-tending festival of Qing Ming on April 5, which would indicate a 12-day process beginning on March 23.
Such an estimate would mean that 42,000 urns would be given out during that time.
