Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Genuine question!
Will bars ever reopen ? Will groups of people be able to sit near each other again in restaurants ?
I keep hearing this new normal! Everywhere in the world, Apart from the likes of Belarus ( Who seem to be doing fine )
Will things ever return to the old normal?
Covid 19 is unlikely to ever go away completely, Just like the flu and other respiratory infections.
Of course I'm sure most people who have done the maths on this and the way deaths are being recorded, Risk of actually dying etc, Done a little bit of their own research, Might think this isn't anything to do with Covid 19..

HHTel - My understanding is that the 32,065 figure is up to May 1st - the plus 40,000 figure is up to date and inclusive of all "reported" Care Home deaths (related to Covid-19).HHTel wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 5:51 pmNow all those figures above match exactly the published figures on Worldometers. However, the published deaths for the UK are 32,065. Is that a case of the 10,000 in care homes not being included? The figures cement the UK as the worst-affected country in Europe. Italy has recorded 30,739 deaths, Spain 26,744 and France 26,604, according to data collated by Johns Hopkins University (JHU). Germany has recorded 7,661 deaths.

Coronavirus: Fauci to warn Senate of 'needless suffering and death'
The US's top infectious diseases doctor is to tell senators that the country will suffer "needless suffering and death" if it opens up too soon.
In an email to the New York Times, Dr Anthony Fauci set out the arguments he intends to make at Tuesday's hearing.
"If we skip over the checkpoints in the guidelines to Open America Again, then we risk the danger of multiple outbreaks," he told the newspaper.
More than 80,000 people have died from the coronavirus in the US.
Re-opening the country prematurely "will not only result in needless suffering and death, but would actually set us back on our quest to return to normal" said the doctor, who is a key member of the White House coronavirus task force.

PM SQUASHES OFFICIAL’S SPECULATION ON LIFTING VIRUS DECREE
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said Tuesday the Emergency Decree may or may not be extended beyond the end of May, depending on the coronavirus situations.
His remarks came a day after a member of his coronavirus response team suggested the emergency law could be repealed as early as the end of this month.
Prayut said he will consider the severity of the pandemic as well as the public’s cooperation in social distancing measures before making a decision.
The Prime Minister also said that Thailand cannot rest on its laurel even if there is zero new infection on some days.
Calls for the Emergency Decree and business shutdown orders are growing after officials reported a decrease in new infections in recent days.

There is absolutely no way the junta will relinquish this level of control/power that easily, Covid or not.

This is happening on a world wide level. Governments rarely give up the powers they decree to themselves. The world is becoming one big China.

"France will not force social distancing on airlines."
I wonder how many people will be booking flights.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Air France is just the first to announce it. Other airlines will follow. Ryanair has already said that if the 'middle seat' restriction is enforced, then they will not fly period.

It’s been mentioned here and in the press many times, that modern planes circulate the air every few minutes, so keeping seats empty defeats the principle of social distancing.

One new case yesterday.

394 Thai arrivals yesterday and today from all over the globe now in quarantine. Any of those developing a problem I would think will be added to the daily new case numbers when it happens.
