Those in charge are happy to see Thailand go backwards, as long as 'Thainess' is preserved. Or to even to extend 'Thainess'. Something those protesting have worked out.ahandpatsy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 6:19 pm
My only hope is that people in power are looking at these forums and willing to see sense and save thailand from themselves

I think the Generals view of Thainess is different to what you think. He has previously stated that if to preserve 'Thainess' he has to turn Thailand into the next Myanmar, then that is what he would do.ahandpatsy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 6:45 pm I actually like the Thainess just dont exclude people from experiencing it

I have been forced to return to the U.K. as Thailand won't let me 'home'.
I have had to postpone my wedding originally scheduled for the 1st of August. We have rescheduled to the end of November but now have my doubts on that one.... Trying to persuade her to have it in Sunny Scotland now.

Emirates to resume flights to Bangkok from 1 September
This announcement totally baffled me at first:

However, having slept on it, it is starting to make sense. If nobody is flying into Thailand, how are all of those with expired permission to be here going to leave Thailand by 26th September.

Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
Are there any Airlines operating flights from Bangkok to the U.K. ? My latest attempt to fly out on 16th September with Emirates has been cancelled. They say they are now only accepting bookings from late October. I understand some people have returned to the U.K., but I don’t know by which airline, many airlines are still taking bookings ... but which of them are flying ?

Thai did announce 3 flights, but I don't know if they've all happened yet.

Thanks Dannie Boy ... it looks like EVA have one flight a week on a Sunday. I’m not sure how all the stranded U.K. citizens in Thailand are going fit in 4 flights before September 26.
Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
Pretty sure there'll be a further extension.
Re: A Covid-19 experience
Sorry to hear about your daughter, it seems the US has surprises this year at every corner. I am hoping to fly out back to Thailand in about 2 weeks. Going to get a preemptive covid test tomorrow before I drop 2500 on tickets and hotel.
I know this process inside and out now so happy to answer questions.

Thanks FJ. The rest of my daughter's story is on another thread. Certainly she had surprises from the US this last week. She contracted covid followed by Hurricane Paula and is now camped in a Shopping Mall carpark as their farm has no water or electricity.

We were in the same position with Etihad earlier in the year. Found flight on Kayak with KLM suggest you try looking on the Kayak site.Troon Expat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 4:55 pm Are there any Airlines operating flights from Bangkok to the U.K. ? Thanks Kraka’s Dad ... I looked on Kayak as you suggested and indeed there appears to be some KLM flights. Interestingly the search also brought up some Emirates flights including the flight that I had cancelled. The Emirates website still appears to accept bookings. The big problem now is credibility... they take bookings but are they actually flying ?
