That doesn't make sense. The disrespect is far greater towards the rich Thai's with their noses in the air. Especially the ones who inherited their coin without a clue how to make it, but preach endlessly to society through the media about how the country should be run and how people should think and act.

Perhaps when Buddhism is made the official state religion, they will all have an enlightment? Pete

i have no doubt you're right there sargeant. thats the same scenario all over the so say third world. a superiority complex is a dangerous state of mind & can lead to endless problems.
we are pretty insignificant as individuals in the bigger picture of life.
away from our family, friends & local environment we are just a single entity, no more important than the next person.
i'm more than happy to mix with the locals (thats everywhere i have been) as much as fellow tourists/expats, making friends likewise.
