'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Re: "O" visa extension
I thought it was 800K 2 months before and 3 months after and 400K for the next 7 months.

Irrespective of whether it’s 3 or 4 months, it’s important that on the day you go to the bank and before they update your bank book, make a transaction (e.g. take out or put in 1000 Baht) otherwise Immigration will reject it.
Re: "O" visa extension
You don't have to make a transaction. The bank will put a 'dummy' entry in your book. That's what they did for my last two extensions. It just needs an entry with the current date.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 8:02 am Irrespective of whether it’s 3 or 4 months, it’s important that on the day you go to the bank and before they update your bank book, make a transaction (e.g. take out or put in 1000 Baht) otherwise Immigration will reject it.

Well he needs to make sure that’s what they do - not this year but last year, Kasikorn didn’t do it in my bank book resulting in Immigration refusing to process my application, a return trip to the bank and a return trip to immigration making a 2 hour process almost a full day!!HHTel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:23 amYou don't have to make a transaction. In Bangkok Bank, they do it automatically but of course it's worth a quick check before you leave the desk.

Last time the bank (Krungthai) made an update of the bank book, but there was no entry at all because there have been no transactions all the year. But Immigration accepted the bank book together with the letter of the bank (which gave only the current amount and no history).

I think you were very lucky pitsch, that is certainly not the norm, and I wouldn't advise anybody to try it. It takes seconds to deposit or withdraw 100฿ when obtaining your paperwork, which is a lot quicker than having to return to your bank. I've known several people who have fallen foul of this.

When I was with Citibank, Thailand, they told me to make a deposit or withdrawal that day, before they did the paperwork for immigration. Some banks are more together than others. It's just another stupid hoop to jump through.

I went to the bank and withdrew 10,000 baht then went over the desk to update the passbook and get the paperwork for immigration. I looked at the passbook and noticed the balance was off from the immigration letter by the 10,000 baht. I pointed it out and she went and printed the detailed activity for a year. I guess when you update your passbook they no longer print every transaction since the last one posted.
