Government inaction blocking private hospital vaccine purchase despite Prayut promise

Despite promises made by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, government hurdles and red-tape have made it impossible for private hospitals to acquire vaccines on their own despite having the agency and connections to make it happen.

Hate to be labelled a conspiracy theorist but anyone getting the feeling that this bunch of muppets are happy to keep the plebs unvaccinated thus keeping a tight leash on the masses?

It would be a superb way to keep the population under the kosh, pull in millions for the "police", maintain and consolidate the dictatorship, ... and prevent any opposition or "gatherings" (ahem ... protests).

And prevent any chance of economic recovery. Thailand's national debt increased massively during 2020 and looks like continuing through 2021.
I'm not sure that even this government is that stupid as to drive Thailand towards bankruptcy.

Which goes back to an earlier post of mine where I wrote about vaccine passports as part of population control. It works for China and it would work here. Same, same.

I think it's all about profit. All vaccines to come from the one source in Thailand capable of their manufacture. They don't want their slice of the pie being affected by uncontrolled imports. The Thais have become so servile under the junta, so much so, they are emboldened to even put the lives of others at risk.

The locally produced AZ vaccine has now passed sample tests. Only announced today with the first batch coming off the production line next month. Months after getting the licence to produce the vaccine in Thailand. The company has never produced vaccines before which begs the question why they were given the contract as opposed to a company such as BioValys which has proven vaccine production.
Money changing hands no doubt.

I see the British ambassador is telling British citizens in Thailand to register for vaccination with the Thai authorities starting 1 May. He says we could use the mo prom หมอพร้อม line page or app to register online. As far as I can see, it is only possible if (1) you have a 13 digit Thai ID and (2) you read Thai.
Has anyone had a more successful experience with หมอพร้อม?

Nice of the British Ambassador to give us permission to register. All we need now is the Thai authorities to agree with him. As far as I know, expats are unable to register for vaccination as yet.

We'll have to register somehow as it seems that private vaccine acquisition is off again. For now.
