Quite a match at Leicester today where the Tigers played host to my favourite team, the Quins
I won't post the result in case members can see the match later - certainly well worth the watch!!
I'm afraid your unbridled joy rather gave the game away!
Watched it this morning on the Premiership website. Yep, excellent game! I like Marcus Smith, who's consistently very good and at 22 is one to watch for the England spot in the not-too-distant future - just needs to tighten up on the goal kicking. It was good to see Tom Youngs, Dan Cole and Richard Wigglesworth still going strong for Leicester. Very impressed with Green, the Quins full-back replacing your mate Browne.
Some excellent tries and a lot of good running rugby and hard tackles. I agree with you that Genge was a tad unlucky; even the letter of the law should leave a little room for discretion on the part of the referee. Speaking of which, Luke Wotsisname is quite impressive, although perhaps a bit too inclined to defer to the other officials. There's no one like Nige!
With regards to the officiating, zero complaints - all extremely good - including my mate Wayne! Luke
Pearce
has made great strides in the last couple of seasons and is a great ref (as is Barnes ) IMHO.
The rules of contact to the head are there for a reason, and rightly so, but with respect to Genge there was no malicious intent and he made the effort to wrap arms - very unlucky Yello Card, but the ref had no choice (thankfully not a daft Red!!).
The Youngs brothers played very well as did Cole as you say, but the latter still gives away too many penalties (and cards)!! All are now long in the tooth and away from international duty..... Not too far away from club sidelines either?

Quite a display from Sam Simmonds yet again and a hell of an achievment - how he has been ignored by England and Jones over the years is mind-blowing. Looking forward to seeing what he can do in SA!
"Sam Simmonds broke the Premiership try-scoring record for a season as his hat-trick helped Exeter Chiefs to victory at London Irish.
Simmonds took fewer than seven minutes to equal Christian Wade and Dominic Chapman's mark of 17 tries.
He went in from close range 15 minutes later to set a new record of 18 tries as Exeter went on to secure a try-scoring bonus point after the break.
The British and Irish Lions squad member, 26, added his third late on."
^^ Just watched it. Irish didn't play badly, but they were no match for Exeter. Simmonds really is pretty special. I had to chuckle when Dallaglio said he'd scored 19 tries during his career at Wasps and thought he'd done pretty well!
I've just been watching Monday's Bristol-Gloucester game. Difficult to assess Gloucester really, as they were down to 14 when their no. 5 was, quite rightly, sent off after 15 minutes for a tip tackle, then they had another 10 minutes down to 13 after a yellow card. Neverhteless, they were only 13-7 down after 50 minutes.
This was because Bristol had (at least) seven (7) try opportunities denied after reviews or silly mistakes in those 50 minutes! There was another one ruled out later, and Gloucester had one disallowed as well. Worth watching for that alone, but otherwise not a classic despite some good play.
Nathan Hughes still looks very strong at no. 8. LRZ didn't get much chance to shine, but looks like such a nice lad... Why couldn't my daughter have brought home one like him when she was a lass?

Will have to have a look-see, missed it on the day. Hopefully I'll pick-up the highlights on the website.
I shan't comment RE: LRZ!!

This is spot on Pete - you mentioned previously and I use the site mostly when overseas. I've not travelled for over a year and this has been great for my rugby viewing (in the UK, we are blessed with choices).... But a little poorer for work or travel!!
Thanks for the continued updates though!!

Great news for the 6 Nations and rugby as a whole - it needed to stay on terrestrial TV and available to the general public. Thankfully, I have access to subscribed channels, but many don't - the 6 Nations going away from terrestrial TV would have lost rugby a great deal of (desperately needed) support IMHO...
"Six Nations Rugby has agreed a deal in principle to award broadcast rights to BBC and ITV for the men's, women's and under-20s' tournaments from 2022 to 2025
Six Nations bosses have agreed a new broadcast deal with BBC and ITV relating to all three tournament editions.
The joint bid from the free-to-air broadcasters has resulted in an agreement in principle with Championship bosses, and Six Nations Rugby has now entered exclusive discussions with them to share broadcast rights for the men's, women's and Under-20s' Six Nations.
The four-year term would begin in 2022 and end after the 2025 Championships.
ITV are expected to broadcast home matches in the men's Six Nations for England, Ireland, Italy and France, while the BBC will broadcast all of Wales and Scotland's home fixtures."
