Looking at Superbru this morning, Pharvey seems to be the only one who didn't pick before qualifying. Of any race in a season, this is the one where that strategy may pay off. :thumb:

Did Leclerc do it on purpose?

On Friday the official F1 youtube channel posted a brief video of Leclerc missing the barrier at the inside of a corner with about 1" clearance. Yesterday, after he'd done the fastest qualifying time, he hit that same barrier. The resulting red flag prevented anyone behind him from beating his time.

Wouldn't surprise me if there are drivers who would do that on purpose. I don't know enough about Leclerc to have an opinion as to whether it was accidental or intentional. If I had to bet I'd say accidental because it seems risky to break a car that was set up well enough to have the fastest qualifying time.

Video shows Leclerc just missing and hitting the same barrier

There will always be the conspiracy nuts out there and there were much better ways that he could have screwed up the session without the risk of serious damage to his car and gearbox. I think the commentators at the time mentioned that Nico Rosberg screwed Lewis Hamilton when they were "teammates" and Michael Schumacher did something similar a few years back,

Waited until midday to make my picks - waiting on the decision for Leclerc's gearbox and possible grid penalty - all good! An hour later he drops out completely due to a drive shaft issue!! :banghead:

Ferrari have dropped the proverbial b*ll*ck there!!...... And stuffed my predictions

Err... Nope  :banghead:  ! Thought I was being clever, but things backfired totally with Leclerc pulling out and Mercedes having a pretty disastrous weekend - killed Bottas' race and did not get tactics right with regards to Hamilton's pit or timing of it (should have stayed out for several laps more) .

Never in doubt for Verstappen when starting from "pole", Monaco being Monaco and Red Bull looking very good. Incredible drive from Lando Norris and you have to feel for both Leclerc and Bottas neither of which will be happy bunnies that's for sure!

Have to mention Vettel - don't like the guy, but he drove a hell of a race.

Parahandy..... PAH!

[EDIT] VS - I hope it's raining on that Roof Terrace tonight? :)

Sitting quietly on the roof terrace at 32 degrees with a gentle breeze to keep me cool and a glass of cheap Spanish bubbly in my hand. What more could I want? Woops. The scary sparkle just arrived. Gotta run...

This is an interesting watch, especially with arguments/potential complaints against the "flexibility" of rear wings on the likes of Ferrari and Red Bull which will certainly give an advantage on tracks such as the up and coming Buku race.

Only FP1 I know, but Red Bull/Ferrari looking very good. Baku's "Street ('ish) Circuit" could pose problems for Sir Ham and the Mercs as did Monaco...... "Flexi-Rear Wings..."?

[EDIT] Might have helped if I posted the times.........

That said, it seems some tight areas of the track could also pose a problem for Japan's contestant Yuki Tsunoda.....
