Every player leaving is Italian - not many Italians coming in! Pretty sure those stats answer your question Pete! That said, it is NOT good for Italian rugby - internationally at least.....
Is there a standard residency clause that allows non-nationals to play as a national, or does it vary country by country? I would think there's a common standard set by the governing body regardless of country.

Yes, it's set by World Rugby - 3 years I think. I remember Nathan Hughes becoming eligible for England a few years ago.
Yep, 3 years it is - or if a parent or grandparent was born in that country.
I don't think there's any country that hasn't taken advantage of this rule, but can't say I really agree with it. I think it's fair enough with regards to the likes of the Vunipola brothers (England) and Faletau (Wales) who were brought up in the UK and played all their rugby here. However, I don't agree with the likes of Anscombe (Wales) who's grandmother (I believe) was born in Wales qualifies him..... Brought up in New Zealand and played all his rugby there prior to being brought over to Wales with a deal through Cardiff Blues and the WRU instigated by Gatland.

Leicester vs Bristol was full on today - some poor refereeing, some "very" clinical play from both teams both on and off the pitch.... I thought the punch up was going to be between the coaching teams before the final whistle, not between players (and subs) after it!!
Despite being ex-Bath, I still think Borthwick is a twunt.... [EDIT] He has made huge improvements to the Leicester pack and forward play....... more reason I think he's a twunt!!

No fear, the majority of us on this thread haven't got a clue what we're talking about!! Of course I include myself in that comment purely out of politeness - I'm Welsh and know everything..... Although I'm married to to the LHG who know's more than me!!
