Like HHTel I was registered for vaccination at HHH but subsequently got sorted at BCC. Is there a need or requirement to cancel with HHH? I just got the green light for tomorrow so I was just gonna no show. Is that a problem?

No, like me, they will invite you 2 more times, and then cross you off their list. The problem I have is I did turn up, had my jab but have still been crossed off their list. As hhinner keeps pointing out, it depends upon which Thai IT system you use, but they still seem to be using them all, and they aren't joined up.

My worry is they keep updating the system that is wrong (3 updates since I had my jab). Which system will they use on 23rd August when I am due to have my 2nd jab?

HHTel, Dannie Boy I hadn't realised your jab was tomorrow, so there'll be little point asking about cancellation - just don't turn up.

Thank you BB, I didn't want to jeopardise my 2nd appt. at BCC and deny anyone still waiting to be bumped up the list.

I actually think they'll be happy to see the back of this first list, and things will run smoother when it's gone. Surplus vaccine will be used at a walk-in clinic.

Hua Hin Hospital vaccination queue moved yesterday evening! What vaccine though?

Post by 404cameljockey »

"Latest vaccine information, August 14, 2021 at 4:45 p.m.
The current doctor's queue is 9,503 - 11,577, the
Prachuap Ready queue, respectively, at the age of 60 years
and over and 7 risk groups + pregnant women."

If you have a number in this range your appointment is TOMORROW 16th August. Take your passport/Thai ID card and your appointment paper.

Does anyone know what vaccine is available there now?

The only thing I’ve seen on this Forum is that the first dose is Sinovac, followed 3-4 weeks later by Astra Zeneca.

Thanks. They expect us all to be lab rats then. My wife and I just won't go tomorrow, better unprotected than falsely believing to be protected, or worse.

I don't mind paying for Moderna or J&J if I could get it (getting very confused, but I know that I don't want mixed jabs while there is no science other than a couple of Thai studied on maybe a thousand people). :(

I've just been reading the vaccine stats for Bangkok, and they are quite worrying. Either they are vaccinating the wrong people, or AZ is not as effective as we're made to believe. Surely the numbers in Bangkok should be starting to drop after:
The population of the city is 7,699,174 and that 77.15% have had at least one jab and 16.59% have had both jabs. Most people got AstraZeneca for their first jab.
One dose of AZ was meant to offer a level of protection, but Covid seems to be laughing in it's face.

The numbers you should be looking at are the number of people hospitalized with Covid after receiving one or both jabs.
I don't know where to look for those numbers. I think I read somewhere that fully vaccinated you can get Covid but the chances of being hospitalized are quite low.

Yes, that is 100% correct, but the mortality rate in Bangkok is also rising. Additionally, they are threatening 800 deaths a day if they ease restrictions tomorrow, and 500 deaths a day if the restrictions stay as they are.

In a nation currently vaccinating in excess of half a million people daily (excluding weekends and holidays), why are numbers rising?

Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the few who thinks the vaccination roll-out is going pretty well, but the results of vaccination are not as I would have hoped.

[Edit] Projected mortality rate was under-stated. Corrected now.
