Dj Gee, see ya later M8 RIP

Post by dr dave soul monsta »

It Is with great sadness, not really knowing where to start and with water filled eyes I make this post,
At 5.20 am Saturday morning whilst driving out in the direction of Cha Am just before the runway bridge of hua hin airport Surf 102.5 Fm's Dj Gee lost control of his vehicle and was Killed outright. details are very thin as to why the accident occurred, but after visiting the scene it was instantly registered in my mind he would not have had time to take in what was about to happen.

His car veered off the carriage way through a hedge after colliding with a steel street light, up rooting & smashing through several coconut palms before coming to rest on its side against a building.

Gee was the genuine man of mystery who pretty much kept to himself.
He had great passion for music and spent most of every day at the 102.5 studio hunting out music to play on air although his tastes were not quite everybody's cup of tea he played a wide selection of music, he would also bend the language rules as far as he possibly could , A true rebel !

Gee had become a very close friend over the last 12 months and although at times like every body at times he would be on a downer, but not for long. Gee had high visions and plans for surf fm he loved music and being able to play it

Gee, you have left behind a very heartbroken & distraught girlfriend and a bunch of very bewildered and deeply upset friends

What did i tell you about that heavy right foot you plonker!

Will meet you at the at the radio station in the sky some time mate, where I will proceed to kick you up the ass for this

I do not know what arrangements are to be made at this point but I will advise of any developments as i get them .

slow down every one please!... and i don't mean just your automobiles

A truly sad loss of an intelligent, informed and talented presenter. Surf 102.5 fm. will not be the same. I am absolutely shocked to hear this. I have always loved listening his show. He was always a pleasure to listen and it will be hard to replace him.
I am devastated by this news and still counldn't believe it was true. My everlasting memory of Gee was on the friday afternoon. If only I could have gone back to that time and had done the better things to you.. I am really sorry.... And I wish you could hear again as I usually told you "I have never been regret from knowing you" and will always mean that ...
A wonderfully charismatic and intelligent man who will be greatly missed by all. May you rest in peace my 4river dear friend....

Shocked to see your headline down the right hand side of the page Dave - was hoping Gee had simply left the station but your OP told the awful truth. Really sad news. I only met Gee a couple of times and he was obviously someone who was full of life and had a wicked sense of humour. In otherwords, he laughed at my 'jokes'!

When I think of the short time I spent with Gee I can only recall him smiling and I got the impression that he had a very positive outlook on life.

A young man with a lot going for him and certainly too young to go now - My own & Mrs Jaime's thoughts are with his family and those of you who were close to him.

RIP

I have just turned on my computer and read this story with wide and watery eyes. I don't know at this point exactly to say, except on the numerous times we met at the Surf FM studios we always had a good laugh and a chat. I'm absolutly stunned and shocked into silence, what a waste. I can't believe I won't see him again.....
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

I didn't know Gee. However, he was obviously a good and well liked guy. On the other side of the coin, when, oh when, are road users here going to stop leaving their brain at home when they get behind the wheel of a car or the handlebars of a motorcycle. It's an absolute waste of life and it will only stop when people realise the importance of driving correctly. If only the police would set the example in their own driving, and enforce the law on others, then the deaths here could be cut DRASTICALLY. It's so simple.

Having said that my condolences go out to his family and people that knew him.

Just logged on and heard this. Shocked is to small an emotion to say how I feel. I really liked this guy, he was genuine, true to himself and his musical tastes.

A rebel with a cause - Music.

Listening to him every day on the radio made him part of the Office life, a team member who made us laugh out load many times. Controversial some of the time, but only because he was not afraid to say it how he saw or heard it.

As a DJ he had matured immensely over the time he has been on Surf FM, he became a natural orator of wit and humour and had a passion for what he did.

As JW said, many classic lines by The Gee on the radio. Remember he started playing tracks from a new album he had just downloaded. 'Never heard this before' he said.

After 20 seconds of the first track, he stopped it with a 'Well that's crap then, let's see what the second one's like'.

Less than three minutes and another four tracks later he said. 'Bollocks to that, I’ll play something I know instead, but you'll all think this is shite to, hard luck, it's my show, and I'll play what I like, so there'.

I am totally gutted about this, feeling pretty chocked at the moment.

RIP Mate.

I hope the Drum & Bass is as hard as you like it, wherever you are. I'm sure the Angels will be learning a few more moves, in one way or another.

For nearly a year I saw Gee every day, we have a mutual love of music and over that time we became good friends. I was absolutely shocked to hear the news, and only now after two days am I finally accepting that this isn't a dream and I really won't see him again.

As already stated, he really was a man of mystery but those who had a an opportunity to peek inside will know that he had many stories tell and, although sometimes troubled, he could always find peace with the help of music.

Since I left the radio station in a full time capacity, Gee almost single-handedly kept Surf going and was there practically all day every day. He never complained, because he loved music and he loved the opportunity to share his music with others.

I'll miss you mate - RIP

I think we should all recognise the work Dr Dave has put into helping with the arrangements, under exceptionally difficult circumstances . You've been a hero over this mate.

Gee's sister has been located in France, she will be traveling to the uk in the next day or so with the intention of traveling to Thailand along with Gee's mother By weekend,

No final decisions have been made at present as to where Gee is to rest.
At present Gee is with the BKK police general hospital in Bangkok.

I did speak briefly with Gees' sister yesterday but the line was so bad the conversation was very difficult to follow, I will be attempting to contact her again to day to acquire clearer details on the families wishes for Gee.
after a conversation with Gee's girlfriend it does appear the family will more than likely wish take Gee back home to the UK,

I will post more Info as it arrives

As Matt said Dr Dave always seems to be the point man in shit such as this. Hats off to you Dave, anyone with him as a mate has a real mate.

Listened to the radio yesterday, its was strange knowing that some dodgy remark was only a second away!

Good news that some of Gee's family have been found.
