The first was superb - truly a new era in cinema. The next two stuffed things quite frankly - there was a comment I remember well, "With the "Matrix", the Wachowskis created a monster - unfortunately with "Reloaded" and "Revolutions", they killed it...." - Personally, I'd agree with that.

I absolutely loved the "Matrix", so dearly hope the latest is up to it....

Just watched Don't Look Up. A five star keeper and a modern day Dr Strangelove.

Gave up half way through - personally I thought it was dire. How you can compare to Dr Strangelove, I have no idea. Perhaps I was not in the mood, but the last comment stands!

From what I saw in the clips on Netflix, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

^^^

Absolutely stellar cast. De Caprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Chris Evans, Tyler Perry to name a few. Billed as a comedy/disaster movie. What could go wrong?

Everything actually. Watched it last night. Thought it was shite, didn't finish it. To be fair, I was expecting something completely different and wasn't in the mood for what I got.

I've not watched it yet so I can only go by other peoples comments.

I quoted you, Sateeb, as you seem to be the only one that liked it. Even giving it a 5 star rating!

My family here watched it today and said it was quite boring. My family in the UK watched it last night and like Pharvey gave up half way through. Just spoken to a friend in Nong Kai and he didn't make it to the end.

I will get around to watching it and make up my own mind but are you sure, Sateeb, you watched the same film!

Like you I will watch it, but I had a hunch about this flick being shite, as the last DiCap movie on Netflix was truly abysmal(Once upon a time...)!!

And I rate Leo, I think he's a tremendous talent...Gangs of New York, The Departed, Blood Diamond, Catch me if you can, The Aviator, The Reverant

But Wolf of Wall Street and The Great Gatsby(along with Once Upon a time) were bloody rubbish IMHO.

You wouldn't get Daniel Day Lewis making shit like that!

Horses for courses I guess. IMO a great social commentary on the "dumbing down" of society.

As for the comparisons with Dr Strangelove I maintain my opinion which is also mirrored by many critics.

Dark satire at it's very best as was Adam McKay's other movies like "Vice" and "The Big Short", not forgetting Scorsese's "Wolf of Wall Street".

Humble apologies to those who watched it and the movies satirical arrows missed the target.

Missed the target...?

It could have been an elephant's arse and the darts would have missed from 5ft! Sorry sateeb, but it truly was cr@p and in no comparison to classics you mention.....

Oh well, a few more to watch yet!!

The Big Short. Absolutely fantastic movie! Up there in my favourites. Fact it was a true story made it all the better. Tried Vice a few times, not managed to finish it yet.

Whilst definitely not my type of movie, I thought it was neither particularly good nor particularly bad.

Ps On a separate note, whilst not having a major role in this movie, I do think Cate Blanchett is one of the very best actors of modern times. She can play any part and absolutely nail it.

Based on the 5* keeper comment I downloaded immediately. Based on the subsequent comments, I've deleted without watching.
