Stunning.
Put in them into the upcoming photo competition.
Seriously though, if you've got some good ones of Thailand, I'm sure we'd all be interested to see them.

Property in Spain

Post by John Stacey »

Having looked (twice) at property in the Costa de Sol, anyone wanting to
buy out there must have sufficient money to buy at the top end of the range of villas.
Spain is now paying the price for the vast urbanisation programmes which
have developed into nationality enclaves.
An excellent example of this is at Torrevieja ,last time I was there they must have put 6 D9 Bulldozers side by side and bulldozed the land to the horizon, there was not a tree or bush standing and they had started on the walls of the different compounds. UGH !!
Increases in prices since joining the E.U. have made the country not such
an economic place to live and many "ex-pats" are finding themselves in
a diminishing house price scenario which has made it impossble for them to return home. Should they so wish.
The volume of re-sales is now exceeding that of "new" and the market is entering a severe slow down which will not pick up until the Government changes it`s policy of enforced charges and lad grabs on homeowners to build the infrastucture so lacking originally.
Greece is a far superior place to live and that will be second to Thailand, once they have sorted out there own internal problems, anyone wanting to move to Spain at this point in time wants their "Bumps Felt"
p.s. Hua Hin was one of the best holidays we have ever had.

Interesting as just today the Bangkok Post "Horizon" section (travel and leisure) had an editorial about the situation in Spain. Basically it said many villages/towns/enclaves are not Spain anymore but sections of the UK. Pete

The over supply of properties on the Costa del Sol (AKA the Costa del Bollox) is breathtaking. The prices are rediculous but reality is creeping in slowly for those that need to sell. Some agents are specialising in 'distress sales' which I believe means people that have to sell at any cost.
Do a search for a 2 bedroom apartment in the Marbella area and look at the thousands available. Friends of ours of been for sale (well, their properties have) for years.
The inland market remains robust as it never went bonkers.

In a game of word association, if someone said Costa del Sol, you'd be daft to reply with 'investment'.

Nice place though, good for a holiday or if you get away from the crowds, costa and hype, nice place to live.
