I'm quite looking forward to it, certainly more positive than negative reviews....

Don't be fooled into thinking that this is an authentic film about the troubles in Northern Ireland in the late 60's. (Now if that were the case, that would have the makings of a truly brilliant film)
On the contrary, this is self indulgent, utterly contrived, mostly unrealistic clap trap, plain and simple!
Only reason I finished this film as others had seen it and I wanted my own opinion.
Far too reliant on the soundtrack, might as well have just called this film 'Van Morrison's music'. Almost all of which hadn't been made at the time.
I really could list a dozen or more 'faults' but I can't be bothered.
No doubt 'Sir' Kenneth will win numerous awards from all his 'luvvie' film industry mates. Can't stand the man, totally up himself!
4/10 for me. And the four is for the performance of the lead female(Ma) who was very good to be fair, despite the wardrobe department over glamourising her.
