Video of the China truck dangling over the cliff.

Truck spends three days dangling over China cliff

Watch this incredible video showing a truck that was left dangling over a cliff edge in China for three days.

The driver and passenger managed to escape, and the vehicle was eventually hauled to safety.

Heat wave in Sydney:

Sydney servo worker baffled as nude man pays for petrol

https://au.news.yahoo.com/sydney-servo- ... 00315.html

A worker at a BP service station in inner Sydney saw more than he wanted to when a customer went the Full Monty while casually visiting the store.

The middle-aged man, wearing nothing but thongs on his feet, was pictured walking into the Edgecliff petrol station in Sydney's eastern suburbs over the weekend, seemingly without a care in the world.

With phone in hand, he strolls up to the counter. The worker behind the computerised till appears visibly unsure as he taps the screen to bring up the man's charge.

In CCTV footage posted online by Sydney radio producer Bruno Bouchet, the man can be seen paying for his transaction with his phone before sauntering off.

A worker behind the counter at the service station on Sunday, who was not there at the time of the encounter, said he believed the bizarre moment took place on Friday with photos taken by onlookers since appearing on social media.

"He’s not wearing any clothes, he comes inside that’s it. Maybe he bought some petrol," he told Yahoo News Australia.

The employee said police were not called and there were no disturbances.

"He didn’t do anything," they said.

It is unclear as to the state of mind of the birthday-suited BP customer.

NSW Police said on Sunday they were aware of the incident but confirmed police were not called about the man and they had not enquired into the matter.

Under NSW law, the maximum penalty for someone who "wilfully and obscenely exposes his or her person ... within view from a public place or a school" is six months imprisonment.

https://au.news.yahoo.com/naked-pension ... 41253.html

An elderly man has died during a visit to a massage parlour in the Thai 'Sin City' Pattaya.

Robert John Swain, 70, took off his clothes and was lying naked on the massage table while being rubbed with oil by the masseuse Oraya, 39, last month.

According to media reports, the parlour offers 'happy endings' - a sexual service offered at the end of massages.

However during his visit, the masseuse suddenly noticed that the pensioner, who arrived at the shop on a rented Honda motorcycle, started gasping for breath mid-way through the session.

Oraya called for help and staff began performing CPR but the British man had stopped breathing. They were unable to revive him and covered his body with a towel.

Police arrived at the 'Lovely Massage' shop in the Bang Lamung district at 4pm and cordoned off the scene. The pensioner was pronounced dead before his body was moved to the hospital.

"This was the first time the man had visited us for a massage. Everything was going normally then I noticed he was sleeping. Suddenly he started struggling to breathe. He was gasping and choking," Oraya recalled.

"I called the other girls for help and we started pumping his heart."

Police investigations ongoing

Police said that they arrived and began looking through the building for signs of foul play or a struggle.

The elderly man also had no identity documents on him, Pol Lieutenant colonel Teetat Trunjan, the Investigating Inspector from Nong Prue Police Station who is handling the case, said.

"The cause of the death is still unclear. The body must be sent for an autopsy, to summarise the true cause of death further," he said.

"In the mean time, we are contacting the relatives of the deceased."

Pattaya, on the east coast of Thailand, is best known for its round-the-clock adult nightlife. It has been dubbed a 'Sin City' or modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.

Space pad kaprao' disappears after landing

Post by Nereus »

Is this news, space thread or Foo:
...................................................................................
''Space pad kaprao' disappears after landing

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... atmosphere

A dish of stir-fried holy basil, locally known as pad kaprao, was sent into the atmosphere using a high-altitude balloon in an experiment in Nakhon Sawan province on Thursday. As the balloon landed on the same day, the famous Thai street food was gone.

The launch is considered Thailand's first use of a high-altitude balloon in a space experiment by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA). It involved the famous Thai dish and soared 35 kilometres into the stratosphere.

According to GISTDA, the balloon returned safely to the ground. It was found about 200 metres away from the Global Positioning System (GPS) point in tambon Nong Krot, Banphot Phisai district, Nakhon Sawan province.

When researchers came to check the balloon, they found a box containing the pad kaprao dish was opened with the adhesive tape removed and the food disappeared. However, another box containing rice was still intact.

The researchers did not elaborate on pad kaprao's disappearance but will continue to perform high-altitude experiments.

On Thursday, Amarin Pimnoo, a GISTDA engineer and head of the National Space Exploration project, said the experiment was designed to study the effects of high altitudes on nutrients.

He said the dish was chosen for the experiment because it is delicious and easy to cook at a cheap cost, while noting that all kinds of Thai dishes should be studied in space.

With Thai food becoming more internationally popular, it is possible that it can be developed as space food, Mr Amarin said.

"Is our Pad Kaprao edible in space? Will any of the nutrients be destroyed or will they improve? Let's wait for it," he said, adding high-altitude balloons have vast potential. "The gist of this flight is that we've created the High-Altitude Experiment Platform."

He then hinted that GISTDA is developing a small spaceport to send up satellites using balloons.

Tatiya Chuentrakul, vice director for GISTDA's partnership and knowledge-building department, said the High-Altitude Experiment Platform could become a model in the country's science and technology research efforts.

"We did send balloons into the sky but sending balloons high into the atmosphere for space science has never taken place in Thailand," he said. "It is the country's first and marks the beginning of the space experiment platform. It can lead to new ideas and innovations."

Snake on a plane: AirAsia jet forced to divert

https://www.bangkokpost.com/world/22639 ... -to-divert (Photo and video at link)

An AirAsia passenger plane was forced to divert and make an unscheduled landing after a snake was spotted slithering through the overhead lights, the Malaysian budget carrier confirmed Monday.

In a viral video social media users were quick to link with Samuel L. Jackson cult classic "Snakes on a Plane", the creature's silhouette could be seen wriggling in the cabin's light fittings.

The incident, which the airline described as "very rare", took place last week aboard a flight from the capital Kuala Lumpur to Tawau, on the eastern coast of Borneo island.

After the captain found out about the snake, he took "appropriate action" and landed in the city of Kuching -- 900 kilometres (560 miles) west of Tawau -- so the plane could be fumigated, AirAsia said.

The passengers then boarded another flight to continue their journey.

"At no time was the safety of guests or crew at any risk," AirAsia chief safety officer Liong Tien Ling said in a statement.

Social media users joked the incident was all-too-reminiscent of the 2006 action film that featured Jackson as an FBI agent trapped on a jet filled with venomous serpents.

"Snakes on a plane is real!!" one user posted.

Another commented on Facebook: "One of my worst nightmares. Too scary for me."

Better hope that you don't end up in this doctors ER:

Woman calls police after bizarre find in her car's exhaust pipe

https://au.news.yahoo.com/bizarre-disco ... 31072.html

Police were called to a woman's home after she claimed to find what looked like human hair stuffed inside the exhaust pipe of her car.

Deborah Lieber, from Wisconsin in the US was concerned after noticing "black, brunette, blonde and grey" strands of hair hanging from her car on the weekend, and she couldn't tell if it was from a "human, animal, beast or a bunch of dolls."

"Neither one of us wanted to believe it was human hair, but it looked like human hair," she told Yahoo News Australia.

The couple were preparing for a Valentine's Day party when her husband first noticed the hair.

"He seemed upset and unsettled. He’s an ER doctor and it takes a lot to rattle him, so I knew something weird was happening," she said

"He told me he found hair coming out of our muffler and he pulled it out, but there was more still inside. He thought it was probably a wig, but the expression on his face made me realise something more was going on.

"He went back outside with a coat hanger to dig deeper into the pipe. By the time I came outside to help him, he had already removed a mound of hair. We were both trying to process what this was."

'I was ready to pack my bags and sell the house that day'
Ms Lieber shared the ordeal on Facebook along with pictures of what she'd found and claimed there was enough to "fill a garbage bag".

he photos show clumps of long, matted "hair" being pulled from the car's exhaust.

Ms Lieber said it was obvious that the officer was as perplexed as they were.

"He kicked around the hair and was outside for a half-hour, trying to sort out what this was," she said.

The officer ruled out "foul play" and labelled it a "weird prank", Ms Lieber said, leaving her dumbfounded and eager to investigate.

"Whatever it was (wig, hair, fur) all the options seemed weird. I thought it was straight out of the Ring or Blair Witch Project. I was ready to pack my bags and sell the house that day," she said.

Ms Lieber dug a little deeper and found the hair she thought was human was actually "muffler hair."

"My brother-in-law called and suggested this wasn’t an intentional act at all, but in fact was most likely muffler hair," she revealed. "We’d never heard of muffler hair"

That is the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen'
She took her finding to Facebook where thousands of social media goers were left shocked by the resemblance the "muffler hair" has to real human strands.

"Apparently (rarely) when mufflers are about to break, some start to shed the material that muffles the sound and it comes out of the exhaust pipe looking like hair," she explained.

"So protruding muffler hair is a thing I guess? It’s the weirdest darn thing I’ve ever found, that’s for sure."

Some even admitted something similar happened to them, and they too thought the worst.

This happened to us a couple years ago. We thought it was some idiot trying to mess with the car until we did a bit of research and talking to other car guys," one comment read in response to the post.

"That is the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen, and I would’ve been so freaked out," wrote another.

Clive Palmer may have just bought Hitler's car, say Liberals and Labor
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-03-02/ ... /100874720

Controversial billionaire and political aspirant Clive Palmer has come under fire for reportedly buying a vintage bulletproof Mercedes-Benz once owned by Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

News Corp reports the leader of the United Australia Party (UAP) bought the 1939 770 Grosser Offener Tourenwagen, or "Super Mercedes", from an unnamed Russian billionaire.

Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews warned Mr Palmer will face the full weight of Australian law if the allegations are true and the purchase and importation of the car breaches import, customs and sanctions rules.

When the vehicle was auctioned in 2018 by a specialist auction house in the United States, the dealer promoted it as "the most historically significant automobile ever offered for public sale", seized by the US Army in 1945 and existing as a "definitive memorial of Allied triumph over evil".

West Australian Labor MP Patrick Gorman wrote to Ms Andrews on Monday, demanding the federal government investigate Mr Palmer's alleged purchase.

"Many of my constituents are concerned with this purchase and the message it sends," he wrote.

"I believe that it is inappropriate for Mr Palmer to personally own such an item."

Mr Gorman went on to question the credentials of the seller, arguing it needed to be "urgently investigated".

"As the name of this individual is not yet known, there is the potential that Mr Clive Palmer may find himself in breach of Australian sanctions," he wrote.

The timing of the alleged acquisition is currently unclear, although the Courier Mail reports that negotiations took place over two years.
