Great first race, I think it's going to be quite a steep learning curve for the teams and drivers over the next few rounds, not to mention a fairly steep learning curve for all us predictors too! Thanks for organising @pharvey and here's hoping for more of the same excitement next weekend

A lot of truth there!! If Merc can sort out their issues with downforce/"porpoising" and bring their engine power into play, they may well make a go of it with Ferrari and Red BS. The Scuderia certainly look the team to beat after Round 1 - lets see what happens next weekend. :thumb:

What The Feck!!

"The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will go ahead as planned after a missile attack on an oil facility near the track in Jeddah.

Second practice was delayed by 15 minutes after the attack as team bosses and drivers were called to a meeting with F1 president Stefano Domenicali.

Smoke billowed across the track during the first session earlier in the day.

Yemen's Houti rebels claimed responsibility for an attack, according to the Associated Press."

It's all a joke sports washing all of it. These Gulf states should never been allowed to host such events. F1 in Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar and World Cup in football In Qatar. It's a disgrace. IMHO!

Saudis reassure nervous F1 drivers after attacks

https://www.bangkokpost.com/world/22856 ... er-attacks

Grand Prix to go ahead on Sunday in Jeddah amid heightened security

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia pledged maximum security to reassure rattled Formula One drivers as the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was set to go ahead on Sunday despite an attack on an oil facility nearby by Houthi rebels from Yemen.

The drivers expressed their concerns over the attack, which sent black smoke billowing over the area and was part of a wave of drone and missile assaults that triggered retaliatory air strikes on rebel strongholds.

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired on 16 targets across Saudi Arabia as they marked seven years since the Saudi-led coalition intervened in support of the government in Yemen, the Arab world’s poorest country.

How's the VS household tonight....? Congrats to Parahandy for now :D :thumb:

The VS household is absolutely fine. I've bashed Parahandy over the head a few times with my wooden spoon, and, thankfully, the yellow cap was not thick enough to cushion the blows.
Looking forward to an interesting race tomorrow.

Oho, Sir Luku go shower after Q1. Better he retire - not his car, himself....

Go George Russell go, and sent Sir Lulu the crying boy back home.

Well, much as expected, Ferrari and Red BS fighting it out for Pole - Mercedes struggling, but George Russell did his damndest. LH got the setup of the car completely wrong and didn't make it through to Q2 - LH and Mercedes certainly need the time to look at things, but any changes that can be made are VERY limited and unlikely to improve matters.

Perez takes Pole for Red BS with Ferrari splitting himself and Crashappen in 4th. Considering the problems Merc are having, Russell takes a very respectable 6th place on the Grid - LH though way, way back in 16th place!
