Government announces new entry regulations
Starting on April 1, 2022, new entry regulations came into effect in Thailand.
The latest change means that all incoming travelers will no longer need to show a negative Covid-19 test result 72 hours before departing.
However, visitors will still have to take an RT-PCR test on arrival and another self-administered antigen test (ATK) on the fifth or sixth day after arrival for the Test and Go and Sandbox programmes.
Travelers are still required to stay one night at a government-approved accommodation, including SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) and Alternative Quarantine hotels, to wait for their RT-PCR test result before they travel the country.
The private sector is still calling for the government to lift all entry regulations as the government plans to declare Covid as endemic in July. But the health ministry said they are still concerned over the rising number of daily cases within the country.
Thailand reported 28,379 cases on Friday compared to around 7,400 cases per day at the beginning of February.
As a reminder, there are now three ways to enter the country including Test and Go, Sandbox and Alternative Quarantine (AQ) procedures.
