Poor headline, but a really interesting Al Jazeera article about Thais being recruited - and cheated - to work in phone scam 'factories' in Cambodia. Picked this up from the UK Thai forum I use.

I have read snippets about this, but nothing as comprehensive as this article. Is it a news item in Thailand's mainstream media?

"Thai police say they have rescued some 700 Thais held against their will by Chinese gangs in Cambodia".

That's basically my thinking, but as we live under military rule and very limited press freedom, I would have used the word, 'suppressed'.

Thanks for these. Most are the same snippets and basically the same story in pidgin English', that I was referring to. And all in English, not Thai. The last report was of a similar ilk to the Al Jazeera report. Interesting.
