Why are deaths so high showing a huge rise in the last month or so when as far as I can tell, although cases are high in many other countries, deaths seem to be on the decrease.

Unvaccinated very old people as #1, unvaccinated very young people as #2. That's my take anyway reading the same things day in and day out.

I think Thailand is still only around 60% for those having 2 shots. I don't know the percent for those who have had nothing but I would guess over 20% for adults, and 100% for the kids I see dying each day in the news reports. Usually all under 5.

I must have taken my eye off the ball. Just read that Thailand is only 56% vaccinated. I thought it was more.
If that's true then it's behind most developed countries and even direct neighbours.

Having said that, once again, it depends where you look. The 'world' maps show Thailand as 73% vaccinated!!
If the 56% figure is nearer the truth then it's quite reasonable to assume most of the deaths/cases are the unvaccinated.

They've admitted today in the Bangkok Post afternoon updated article that since Songkran cases have steadily declined, not increased as they were panicking about before the holiday period began.

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... ore-deaths

The thought comes to mind that we are in the jaws of the hot season, and cases also declined or didn't really get started in the 2020 hot season when this all began. 2021 is all a blur for me so I'm not sure if the numbers went up or down last hot season?

When the rains set in and the weather becomes cooler, will we see a significant increase in cases? I hope not. Fingers crossed.

They say no but I have a constant brain niggle that high ambient temperatures impedes the spread of this virus.

Good to see a sizeable reduction in deaths. (If the figures are true of course). But then again, maybe nobody dies on a Saturday -- not allowed!

It's the first time it's dropped to double figures since 8th April, so there's been a few Saturdays where people have died.

People on ventilator are going to die. I would say considerably more than half. There are still 822 of them so a long way to go.

We also have the unknown factor of rural and slum people who get very sick and just stay at home, and sometimes just die of this disease.

But do people actually die of/from the disease or with the disease ?? I do wonder 🤔 as there's a big difference in the cause of death
