True but a majority of people setting down in Thailand and Hua Hin tend to be guys hence the majority of guys hanging out on the forum.

Hello crystal,
We'd like you girls to write more comments on this forum. Maybe that's why it seems that the site is overrun by guys because not many girls write here.

Welcome aboard,
Agree with the above, mostly men post, I'm sure girls are reading but very few ever post.

I would add a category for women if I thought there was a demand for it.

:thumb: to another female appearance on this site. I thought I was pretty much all alone.

Ahh, but there may be few more visits to HHAD by me, because damn, damn I can't find any schools to place teenaged kids!

I'd sure hoped for Hua Hin to be home to us for a couple of years, but it looks like it's not to be. I'm not going to home school, that's for sure!

I'm nearly resigned to bagging it, so does anyone out there have any suggestions for another locale to for me to take a look that's nice and near the sea?

As to having a site for women to post, IMHO that's a good thought. I know that I'd be less reluctant to ask more questions if I thought there'd be a bit of a woman's spin to the answers. We do think just a wee bit differently.. :P

For sea and plenty of choices in education you'll probably have to go for Phuket or Pattaya, although nothing beats the athmosphere here in Hua Hin both for adults and youngsters growing up. I'm happy that my kids are growing up here instead of some other places in Thailand (used to live in Bangkok for almost 13 years).

Rayong is an option as well. Some international schools there and plenty of ocean and islands and shopping outlets. You're also away from the glitz and bad influence of Pattaya. Only disadvantage may be the lack of other expats to socialize with. Foreign population there is pretty thin. Pete

Rayong? Where is that? I've heard of Ranong but not Rayong... Somewhere close perhaps?

I dont think it will need moderating, assuming the girls are well behaved

Rider: Rayong is on the eastern side, south of Pattaya.

Rayong City is the capital of Rayong Province, the next one east after Chonburi. It's about 80 km away of Pattaya. After Rayong comes Chanthaburi, Trat then the Cambodian border. Pete

Mab Ta Phut is the industrial area in Ranong province (east from Ranong city) where most of the expats work. I think most of them live further east in a place called Ban Chang (บ้านฉาง). Yes, you're right prcscct, that is one option as well.

BG, I've got to correct you, sorry. It is Rayong, not Ranong. Ma Ta Put is in between Ban Chang and Rayong. Ban Chang, then MTP, then Rayong; West to East. Ban Chang also does not have too many Farangs these days. Many who work in MTP now live on the ouskirts of Pattaya and commute. Ban Chang "back in the day" was a town very popular with American GI's. I lived there for 2 years 1970-72 when with the USAF at U-Tapao. Some retired military friends of mine now live there with their famlies, very quiet and peaceful place with some nice beaches as well (Pala and Payoon)but no schools for farang kids. A few bars popular with the offshore oil drilling crews who stay in a hotel there from time to time and raise hell with the few girls available. Pete
