I emailed them details and they replied asking me to contact them via Line or Whatsapp. Does this seem dodgy or legit. I have enough apps on my mobile and don't need another. I prefer having documented conversations in email.
Perfectly legitimate. Both those apps will give you fully documented conversations.

Yes, I was asked to do the same thing. Response was almost immediate each time I contacted them.

Attempted to reserve today for rentals a month from now. I was asked to check back 2 days prior to rental to "check models and price".

Yes I had a similar reply for renting a car in February.
Really need to sort well in advance for peace of mind.[*]

most of car rentals companies have no more cars available for months ! Seems that they have now a very low stock of cars and don't want to invest anymore.

just had further reply from Nice N Easy car rental. The figures on their website are out of date.
Add 2000 baht to all the monthly rates shown.

I gave up and made a reservation with Hertz from BKK airport. Only problem is that they don't open until 8 am and my flight arrives at midnight. I'm thinking to stay at the Novotel at the airport and sleep for a few hours until Hertz opens. Any suggestions other than the Novotel? Its pricey, but convenient.

We used to stay at BS residence about 5 to 10 minutes from the airport and they have free transport to and from airport

Re Hua Hin cars advert.

I have booked a return airport transfer with them for November. They replied very quickly and the prices are as shown on their website.

I also wanted to rent 2 x Honda Click motorbikes. The price on the advert shown by BB was 700 baht per week for each bike and their website displayed 800 baht per week. In reality the asking price was 1400 baht per week per bike.

I tried to negotiate a reduction based on a double Bangkok taxi trip and 2 bikes for 3 weeks but they were not interested. They subsequently came back with try again 2 days before arrival to establish prices and availability.

Thank you. A few online reviews steered me away from this place. Sounds like its hit or miss.
It did get me thinking of alternatives and I booked an Airbnb condo just around the corner. A quarter of the price of the Novotel and the owner will pick us up and drop us back off at Hertz.

Just had my rental motorbike collected by Cha-am Motorbike Rental.
Can't say enough good things about the whole experience. They let me reserve 1+ month in advance, delivered it to my condo with a full tank of fuel and collected it from the condo at the end of our rental. They were flexible as my dates changed twice. Less than 15,000 km on the clock and in perfect condition. Yamaha Aerox 155 with two new real helmets. As requested, one large for my fat head and a regular one for the wife. The bike itself was a huge upgrade from all other previous motorbikes I've rented. Usually a Wave or Click with uncomfortable toy helmets that we used to "protect" our domes.

They asked for 2,000 THB deposit which was returned to me today. All communication was through Facebook Messenger.
A couple of other rental places would not confirm my reservation in advance and asked me to contact them again two days prior to our arrival.

I will definitely be using Cha-am Motorbike Rental again.

Cheap car rental for two months

Post by seasides »

Good day all

For my dad who'll be in Hua Hin for two months: looking for a cheap car rental. Getting from A to B is all that matters. Brand, make, year not important – maybe someone knows someone who has a car that he / she is not using?

Or any referral?
