Back to Indian restaurants, my delayed visit to Atcha is scheduled for this coming Sunday, so I’ll provide a report soon afterwards.

I’ve been to Atcha but last night rather than on Sunday.

Food wise I’d say it was very marginally better than Shiva, although it’s 3 years since I was last at Shiva so things might have changed, but either way I don’t think you’d be disappointed at either restaurant.

Service was a bit slow last night, barring in mind that we were the only seated customers (although they were doing takeaways).

Prices were I’m sure cheaper than what they are at Shiva and portion size was more than sufficient.

Of course those that have been to Shiva will know that they offer a considerable plus with their setting.

I must give Shiva a visit to see how they compare now rather than my memory from 3 years ago, but I’m sure both will satisfy most Indian food critics!!

The food quality is excellent and not pricey. Chef is an Indian who speaks good English and happy to tweak the food as required. They have a very busy home delivery service with Grab guys in and out constantly. Well worth a try .....and no I'm not the owner or a relative !!
So how does it compare with Shiva and Atcha ?
11 months on, I have now made it Eat @ Sivana. My SatNav took me the wrong way once, but thanks to a series of helpful security guards, we got there. It was dark but everywhere looked to be spotless, and plenty of parking.

The food, service and staff were all excellent, although the menu was nowhere near as large as other Indian restaurants in the town. They also have a Thai menu, which the Thais in our party ordered from, and they agreed the food was high standard as well.

To answer PET's question, and this isn't a derogatory comment against any of the restaurants because they all do good food. MY taste buds would rate the food as:

1st - Atcha
2nd - Shiva
3rd - Eat @ Sivana

In terms of ambience:

1st - Shiva
2nd - Eat @ Sivana
3rd - Atcha

The big advantage of Eat @ Sivana is the duo Thai and Indian menus, which is a distinct advantage when you have Thais in your party who are not keen on Indian food.

We will definitely be back - it'll be easier next time because I won't be relying on my SatNav :D.

I'd be interested to hear how you would rate Karan Cafe versus the others ... for food not ambience.

As name suggests it's a bit of a cafe style fit out. Its not a Shiva tropical garden!

Next to Dusitd2 condo just south of Bluport, so not too far for you to travel

For me the food at Karan was far better than Shiva

We ate at Karan Café last night and were impressed. A friend who was with us and used to travel a lot to India in the past, said it's authentic, traditional Indian-style cuisine, not the "anglicized" version you sometimes get in the UK.

I've only eaten Indian food a couple of times before in Hua Hin but this was the best I've had so far.

We all thought the portion sizes looked small at first but then we realized that the dishes they served the food in were deceptively deep and contained a lot more than we thought. In fact we probably only ate about half of what we'd ordered (got the remainder to take home) so we could have ordered significantly less and still have had plenty to eat.

It wasn't super-cheap (about 500 per person, including beers) but as mentioned, we could have ordered far less food and still have been satisfied.

Good to hear you enjoyed it!

I hope they are getting busier as they really deserve the business.

I just wish they had located on Soi 94. Perfect for late night meal after the bars!

The only thing for me to do is visit them all and decide for myself. It’s a hard life.

I would say the best is Atcha and they service is excellent, they are improving the restaurant all the time. If you are going at a busy time it is best to order you food first and then you do not have the wait, everything is cooked fresh so it takes time.

I was at Atcha last night, and they are extending the restaurant. No inconvenience to customers, during the work, but a much bigger place when complete. LOL, I guess car parking will be the problem when complete.

There's a new Indian opened not that far from Atcha named Mukti

Opened on Friday night and has some good reviews on FB already

Think it's on the main Soi 70 Palu U Road, just along from Marzipan cafe

I was at Karan Cafe last week with 2 friends who had not been there before and they really liked it. As did a British couple who were eating there that night too.

Yes, I haven't had chance to eat there yet but I live out that way and it's on the Palu U road as you say, after Marzipan and directly before the Caltex service station.
It looks a decent place from the outside, I'll give it a try when I have the chance.

I was there last Thursday and no sign of that, but clearly needed. Most times I go, usually with another member of this forum, its early, but many tables are already reserved. When I first went, there were far fewer tables than what there are now. From humble beginnings, they seem to have really taken off. I hope they maintain the current quality when extended.

Bombay Palace on corner of soi 57 and Poonsuk..... Any feedback please anyone?

A mate went a couple of years ago said it was pretty good

I've never seen a single customer in there which terrifies me!

Prefer forum reviews to Google maps

TIA
