This should enhance Tesla’s reputation!!

Not just the decision to halt the import of RHD cars, but the impact on residual prices and some of the comments on build quality.

If you read the article that you posted, it's only the Tesla S and X that aren't available in RHD.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 12:54 pm Well one things for sure, it won’t be the best selling car in the UK!!

Ok my mistake for not reading all the details, but I still doubt it will help their cause for fear they might extend the decision to other/all models?STEVE G wrote:If you read the article that you posted, it's only the Tesla S and X that aren't available in RHD.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 12:54 pm Well one things for sure, it won’t be the best selling car in the UK!!

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
I test drove the Model S a few years back and whilst it was an amazing car to drive, it was also cost prohibitive. At that time, there was also a Model X in the show room, but only LHD - so even then there were doubts over the RHD models (the Model Y wasn't then available).Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 1:45 pmOk my mistake for not reading all the details, but I still doubt it will help their cause for fear they might extend the decision to other/all models?STEVE G wrote:If you read the article that you posted, it's only the Tesla S and X that aren't available in RHD.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 12:54 pm Well one things for sure, it won’t be the best selling car in the UK!!

They're a lot less exciting than a Tesla S but the airline I work for has just bought us a load of electric Peugeots for driving around the airport.
I like the smooth and virtually silent driving experience and don't miss all that banging and clattering from under the bonnet.

That was half the fun of owning a Peugeot
thats if the thing
1 ever started
2 wasn't at the garage....

Glad they bought you Peugeots and not Tesla’s - that would have been a complete waste!!STEVE G wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 10:53 pm They're a lot less exciting than a Tesla S but the airline I work for has just bought us a load of electric Peugeots for driving around the airport.

There have been a number of positive announcements this last week about Solid State Battery advancement and EV’s with this technology likely to hit the market starting in 2025 - the future is looking good!!

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
I'm really intrigued by the prospect of the increasing use of Sodium-ion (Na-ion) batteries for EV's. Using sodium instead of lithium avoids a host of problems. Sodium is for instance, vastly more abundant, much cheaper, causes much less pollution to produce and provides much safer batteries than lithium. It also performs well at a wider range of temperatures (especially at the lower end of the scale).
I had read a number of articles over recent years that reckoned sodium wouldn't be suitable for EV batteries due to weight concerns and low energy density but BYD has recently launched its Seagull model with Na-ion batteries that has proven that assessment to be incorrect.
Despite the lower energy density of Na-ion cells, the Seagull (which is around the size of a Fiat Panda) still gets up to 300km range and the kicker - due mainly to the cheapness of its sodium batteries, it retails in China for prices starting at the equivalent of £7,700.

I think one things for sure, before the end of the decade the development in EV’s and battery technology is going to be massive, which can only be good for the consumer and the environment.

I very much doubt it.

Conclusions
CLTC-P is relatively close to the acquisition data and the
acquisition data weighted by GIS, and in the middle,
reflecting that CLTC-P is in line with Chinese reality, and
is significantly different from other typical cycles. CLTCP is mainly in urban and suburban areas, which has the
characteristics of low average speed, high idle ratio and
frequent acceleration and deceleration.
864 km (536 miles) from 100% SoC to a completely dead battery - this isn’t a WLTP, EPA, or CLTC rating. This is a real-life test, 4 adults, and a 120 km/h highway test which is absolutely hated by every electric car out there. The actual usable range was 840 km (521 miles)
