Some very odd comments about the main office - I've always found it an absolute breeze there. One of the head honchos even gave me their number incase I had any questions and I've never handed over a baht for the service. I've only ever found the girls downstairs helpful and the photo copying woman is not only a fountain of knowledge but is the Multi Tasking world champion!
Never had the slightest problem with annual extensions (mariage visa which some reckon is harder than a degree but I've no idea why - it's not difficult) and the 90 day reports are sometimes done in seconds if you time it well. 3 or 4 times I've been the only one in there and walk straight up. If it's ever busy I simply walk out and go back a couple of hours later, it helps I live close of course.
Guess it all boils down to the old adage which serves you well here - be nice you'll get nice!

Well, aren't you the lucky one ... experiences with immigration vary wildly in the land of inconsistency.
Nothing is as black and white, but the general consensus here is that Bluport is easier to deal with than the main office, as is Dansingkhon for those that live down this way. Its a shame they only offer limited services but I know where I'll be doing my re-entries and 90-days from now on.

I reckon the vast majority are as sweet as they can be when visiting to extend visa's for obvious reasons and on the whole, it is just a chore that has to be done. But sometimes being nice isn't enough, if an IO got out of bed the wrong way, or is still seething about an earlier issue with a farang, or is just in a bad mood.

Spot on and its all in there, to do a exact analysis will be to ugly to post here.

I did my annual Non-Imm O extension for the first time last Wednesday, incl TM 8 to obtain multiple entry. Quick check downstairs up to second floor and had to wait approx 10 min for my turn. Again checking the documents stamping my pp and wait until receipt and change. Received my pp with multiple entry 1 year extension about 35 mins after arriving Imm. This is the most hassle free visit I have had at the HH main Imm office since I arrived here in HH 13 years ago! Very pleased indeed with the service this time.
