A Warning to Vegans

Post by HHTel »

Influencer who promoted virtues of fruit-only diet dies aged 39 'of malnutrition'
Unfortunately, many people take onboard what these 'bloggers' say. Hopefully this will prompt more people to do their own research before taking on an extreme diet.

Pretty obvious that eating only fruit will kill you sooner or later. The headlines are clickbait, nothing wrong with going vegan (I'm not by the way) if you have a balanced diet that doesn't include processed food and contains plenty of protein from non-meat sources.

Now ... where is that bacon butty. :munch:

Absolutely agree. However, there are people out there that believe anything in print regardless of the source.
You hear it a lot especially from women (not sure if that's relevant) "I read of FB about this person who has done such and such." etc etc. The likes of you and me don't understand that there are people that take onboard the views/actions of idiots. Trump supporters for example.
I, and yourself I'm sure, would never take random advice without checking it out.

Its another scourge of social media ... unqualified "influencers" that influence gullible minds!

Beside the vegan who killed herself with the wrong food it was also nice to read that a top Australian chef has banned vegans from his restaurant in order to avoid a nervous breakdown. Very understandable. I have never come across a vegan who keeps their views to themselves and doesn't want to tell a chef how he/she should cook.

Generally I acknowledge anyone's life choices, however, if that choice is pushed into my face in order to provoke a reaction you can jolly well GFY thank you very much.

How many do you know?

Still, it's not unheard of for meat eaters to whine endlessly about vegans I guess.

I have three sons, one of which turned vegan some 4-5 years ago - to the best of my knowledge, he doesn’t try to convert others to the same!!
