The new Saw is out, thought it was great. The tenth movie of the franchise, definitely in the top three of the lot. Meg 2 is also out — it's shit don't bother.

The kid will probably like it. Got some big sea monsters in it. I thought it was boring as hell. Alternatively, you could stick Saw X on and utterly traumatise him so he doesn't pester you about movies again. :D

Meg 2.... Not seen, but have to admit I have downloaded it - after all, monster shark, Jason Stathom, over-the-top "acting".... What's not to like?

The Saw movies aren't for everyone. Some great movies in the franchise (numbers 1, 2, 6 and 10) The others are kinda meh. Yes, they are grotesquely twisted and sadistic. Number 10 is no different.

I enjoyed the first Meg and went into the cinema for the second thinking the same as yourself — what's not to like?

Everything actually. Boring.

REPTILE (2023 NETFLIX)

A perfectly decent whodunit murder story with good production and acting.

Stars Beneccio Del Toro

About 20 minutes too long IMO but still a good effort

8/10

There seems to be a "wokening" thread somewhere about these parts. Here is the perfect antidote to extreme wokeism from the brilliant mind Bill Burr( check out his stand ups)

Old Dads (2023)
Three best friends become fathers later in life and find themselves battling preschool principals, millennial CEOs, and anything created after 1987.

Enjoyed watching "The Great Escaper" (October 2023) with Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson
In the summer of 2014, a World War II veteran sneaks out of his care home to attend the 70th anniversary commemoration of the D-Day landings in Normandy.
It is based on the true story of 89-year-old British World War II Royal Navy veteran Bernard Jordan who "broke out" of his nursing home to attend the 70th anniversary D-Day commemorations in France in June 2014.

And coincidentally, another apparently very similar film has also just been released.

The Last Rifleman https://yts.mx/movies/the-last-rifleman-2023
World War II veteran Artie Crawford lives in a care home in Northern Ireland. After his wife's death, he decides to ignore all advice and sets off alone to France to attend the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
Pierce Brosnan in the lead role.

Just finished this one. The Last Descent (2016). It's an alright movie, low budget, I quite enjoyed it. One to stick on if nothing better to watch. I was just surprised I hadn't heard of this incident before. Or my memory has blanked it.

Bloke got stuck in a place called Nutty Putty Cave.
