Yes, she sort of alternates each week with either a trip down memory lane with snippets of our history that most of us have forgotten - often embarrassing; or she gives us a poem. The matriarch of our family.

Superb, from a 98 year old, that lady is someone it would be a pleasure to meet.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

I thought it was excellent from a 98 year old.
That would be excellent from someone half her age.
My mother's 97. Still does the Times Crossword. She often says "Give me a new skeleton and I'm free to go!"

Age is just a number.

Was awoken by a familiar noise at 3am this morning. THEY'RE BACK.

Not as noisy as last time, but a phone call to the exterminator when they open.

Oh dear back to the saga, was wondering when the next season would start
Good luck, hope you get rid of them quickly

We have had problems with mice getting into the ceiling. A few months ago the buggers chewed through the CCTV cable in an inaccessible area which was a pain to fix. Traps were set and three caught and despatched. It went quiet for a while but lately we have had to put the traps out again and have caught another six who it turns out do not swim well in a sinking cage. This time bread seems to be an efficient lure while the last lot enjoyed sausage. Don't know if the return is weather linked or not. I am away at the moment so get daily reports from the wife but cannot wonder if wet weather is driving them to seek higher dry ground.

I think you could be right regarding the weather. My daughter has also caught 7 in the last 2 days, although we haven't really had much rain - maybe they've read and believed the weather forecast.

Another beastie removed this morning . Maybe I need a snake up there

Exterminator showed me photo of today's monster - it was noticeable that some wires up in the loft have been chewed. Need to get our handyman on the job methinks.

Would that exterminator be interested in a little road trip to remove a couple of hundred feral roosters? :guns:

Off topic but:

Reminds me of a shaggy dog story which I'll precis. An Avon Lady (a door to door fragrance seller in the olden days) needs badly to break wind and waits until she leaves her client and does it in the lift. It's a horrendous smell but she sprays a lot of perfume in the air after. A couple of floors down a drunk gets in and starts sniffing heavily. The lady says: "Oh, do you like it? It's our new fragrance, 'Forest Pine'". The drunk blearily turns to her and says: "shmells like shomeone shit a Chrishmas tree".

I'll get my coat. The drunken part is for comic effect when telling. You had to be there....
