Here's the top sellers now for TH, Can't see them getting much cheaper, as they are feature packed, and same or less expensive, as the quality imports from JP.

Prices for the MGs is incorrect. Except for the MG EP, knock about 100k off, as the promotion prices were on the 'promotion' page:

From my understanding, which I accept could be incorrect, the Chinese EV's are imported tax free, and purchasers receive a subsidy, which I assume will end at some stage.

The EV fanboys on this thread continue with their delusions.
Almost nobody wants to buy one for very good reasons.....

At current sales volumes, EVs are heading towards 20% of global car sales by the end of the year which is hardly "Almost nobody".
If EVs were actually as bad as all the negativity you see on the Internet and in the UK press, they would have died a natural death years ago.
What you are seeing is huge amounts of lobbying money being spent by the vested interests in the fossil fuel and IC motor industries who never thought this technology was going to advance so quickly.
Renewable energy is now getting so cheap that throwing money away to the Middle East for fossil fuels is absolute stupidity.

Sadly, physics always wins.
EVs are a commercial and technical dead end. There is nothing likely to replace ICE for at least 20 years.

Human ancestors used to live in caves, wear animal furs to keep warm and light fires with flints. We’ve moved on a bit since those days and EV’s are here now, will progressively take over from ICE’s, with new EV’s sales most likely to be the dominant mode of transport within the next 10 years let alone 20. Many countries are banning the sale of ICE cars from 2035 or sooner - 2/cb, you may not like EV’s but they’re coming!!

Your ignorance or bias 'opinion' is mind boggling. EVs fit my lifestyle perfectly here, and really can't see most having issue with the.

Plus that I'm retired and have solar, but if still working & charging on grid, they'd still be a much better alternative to ICEVs.

They perform better, should last longer, and cost the same as quality ICEVs, without all the maintenance, and petrol cost to operate.

EVs probably not for those that can't charge at home, extremely impatient, or work on the road racking up lots of kms everyday. Aside from that, they should fit most people's lifestyle & budget, especially with long term savings.

Open your eyes, ICEVs are being replaced as we type. Improvement & refinements almost monthly. Oil & petrol production for transportation will be tapering of the next 10-20 years, and if fossil fuel conglomerates allow gov't to promote and use alternative energy source, then maybe in 20 to 50 yrs, won't even be needed for the grid in most of the world. One can only hope.

With the conventional internal combustion engine, more energy goes to waste heat through the exhaust or radiator than makes it to the wheels so be careful of using science to predict the future of transportation.

In TH, it was all about economic, simply cost & savings. They now cost about the same or cheaper, than quality import from JP. Charging at home vs petrol every week, the savings are simply too much to pass up.

MG ZS EV - 360 kms (@฿5kWh) = ฿232
MG ZS ICE - 360 kms (฿36 per L) = ฿925

No oil changes or tune ups
Electric motor & LFP batteries, should easily get 500k kms, and we drive 20k kms a year. As posted earlier, if all local kms, we save ~฿51.3k baht a year on petrol since we use excess solar at house.

If charge on the grid, same 20k kms cost ฿12.9k, you'll still save ฿38.4k a year. Times that by 10-15-20 yrs.

Performance wise ... you'll never buy another ICEV.
