I posted this question before and it seems it has been removed for some reason or another, so I'll try again.

Is there anywhere relitively close to Hua Hin to lanch a 6m boat safely from a trailer with out risking getting the truck stuck on the beach and have the tied come in on it.

I seem to recall there is a river or lagoon where there are a lot of boats and fishing boats that somehow make their way down to the sea from there? Perhaps that is the spot to launch? One of the problems of boating around Hua Hin is that there is a big exclusion zone around the Royal Palace, I forget now but I think it's 1.5 km, basically around those Navy warships that are always moored off the city. I think there is somewhere down near Pranburi where you can get a boat in; I will try to find out because I fancy getting a small boat myself.

That is right Steve.
It's a marina for private boats close to the fishing boat harbour some kms outside Pran Buri town.
Take left in the traffic light road cross in down town Pran Buri and follow that road out to the coast.

Is there any form of managment there that would look after your boat if you left it there at the dock or if it was dry moraged?

Have no idea Hobiecat if somebody's keeping an eye with the boats, but there's many different type of boats there, speedboats, cabin and day cruisers and sailing boats.
2 of the expensive boats carried Italian flag.

There is a good slipway at the marina in Pak Nam Pran. They charge 200 baht in and 200 baht out

For details how to get there, see the map on our website of how to get to our place. The marina is around 1 km before you reach Mermaid Cruises (don't go into Pran Buri first, otherwise you'll almost be doubling the length of your journey)

We are currently extending our facilities and will have a slipway and additional moorings available within the next couple of months.
We also have dry storage space available as from now.

We live on the premises, so there is 24/7 security. We can also take care of routine maintenance (anti-fouling etc.) and have access to all the local craftsmen.

Sorry this is a bit late.....At Kao Takiab, just south of the estuary, there's a beach where a watersports business launch their speedboats and jetskis from trailers with no apparent problem. People also often park their cars there on the sand, and I've never seen one bogged down. Could be worth checking out if you don't want to go as far as Pak Nam Pran.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure you're not going to be able to start launching boats off in Kao Takieb.

Most probably the Thai run businesses doing so at the moment are paying monthly for the right to do so. A single farang with a boat I would believe has no chance, otherwise within six months you would have another hundred or more doing the same.

You may have a point, but when my interpreter (wife) had a casual chat with a fisherman who was working on repairing his boat nearby, he seemed OK with the idea of someone leaving their boat on the beach there.
But where are these 'hundred or more' farang boaters? For three years I've been trying to find someone who may be interested in getting together to do some sailing, through this forum and others. Nothing. And how often, apart from during the Regatta, do you see a sail offshore from the beach?
With no local club or apparent source for new or used sailboats, I took to building my own. It proved to be a very challenging but rewarding (and addictive) undertaking. My third effort is an 11 foot sailing dinghy which I hope to have on the water in a few weeks.
I would like to offer an invitation/challenge to anyone to do likewise. I would be happy to use any of what I have learned in the process to help others get started.

I've been launching an inflatable from the end of (I think it is ) Soi 81 for the last couple of weeks .
The sand is not too soft but when I bring my bigger boat here in a few weeks I will probably just unhitch and run her down at high water.

I brought a fast fisher over from the UK and that is the same size as yours , Hobie cat.

To recover just run a rope to the trailer with the car on firm ground.
If you get in the 'do do' with all your wheels on the sand then just let your tyres down. You can get out of most 'dig ins' that way. An electric re-inflated cost me about 1000Bt but if very useful anyway as the tyres of Thai motorbikes always seem to lose there pressure.

The local jet ski ( ) lads put there pain in the rear machines in there too and have two mini tractors so there help might be used.

I've thought about that myself but for launching locally here in Hua Hin but wasn't sure how that would work out. I perfer using a proper slip. Would gladly come give you a had one day to see how you make out.

Under the first seaward side bridge crossing the Pran Buri river there be a
concrete slip apparently capable of launching the USS Enterprise and it apparently
is free for everyone to use. The bridge is on Kao Tao to Pak Nam Pran road.

I have very little with bridges to do. Occasionally I just live under them.
