Hello and please wouldn't go a miss 😉
It all depends on what you like doing, night life ? Shopping? Visiting temples? Beaching?
Also any particular type of food you don't like? Are you on a budget?
Btw welcome to the forum

State your interests, tastes and possible financial restrictions first and then tell us if you have your own transport.

Let’s not try to frighten the guy away, but as you might have gathered JamesDavid, there’s a lot of variety on offer so if you give a bit more information about yourself (and anybody else travelling with you), it will help focus the details.

Actually, I'm pretty sure all the info and recommendations he's asked for are already here on the forum. It's just a question of taking the time to have a good look around the forum: The Beach Bar, Feeding Time, Events & Activities, etc. :thumb:

I dare say that applies to a lot of questions asked on the Forum and as we know, things can change quite quickly with restaurants closing down and new ones opening!!

This is a few of my personal favourites in absolutely no particular order.

Have dinner at Cool Breeze in the city centre, a Spanish tapas restaurant with great food. Maybe 1500 THB for two people.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/fJAZMfsqZhKfQzWFA

Have a luxury day at Anantasila hotel in Kao Takiab. You pay 500 THB per person for a sun bed on the beach with a huge towel. You can use the facilities at the hotel, swim in the pool and order food for the whole 500 THB. When we go there, two people, and eat what we like, the total cost is usually just over 1000 THB for the two of us. If you order wine or cocktails, the bill could be much worse.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/AUG5AavJQZginWBU9

Go shopping in the according to me best mall in town, Market Village.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/CzsV1HYQQdx2ifxLA

Visit a genuine Thai market not oriented to tourists. Huana Market.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/RF4u12y34iPmrAri8

Go to the beach where the Thai people go. Suan Son Pradipat Beach.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/DeeKifpvq4BrUBQz8

Have dinner at Ban Khun Por Foodcourt. The price of a dish is from a few THB and up. A big Chang was 65 THB last visit, if I remember correctly. The music can be loud, so don't sit close to the stage if you don't appreciate that.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/mkJvSRvJ4nuFGFSLA

Have a drink in the rooftop bar at Hilton in the city centre.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/S53aiMEb5wscUXYu7

If you preffer a glass floor, go to Holiday Inn for your rooftop drink.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/pi3NLMFeXbJKENuF9

The water park Vana Nava Water Jungle has some fun, even for adults. Can be a little expensive if you don't enjoy all the scary rides.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/QkS5gedDF3zeDM827

If you have a death wish, feed the monkeys at the "Monkey Mountain". They used to be cute, these days they are scary. I don't think I go there again.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/sHHQEwSLxsat2SVr5

Listen to live music at the rock club, El Toro Loco. The music usually starts around 20:30. They have food and, of course, different kind of drinks.

I second that. Thanks Ralfredo, it takes time and effort to put a listing with links together like that.

A timely query from a real tourist, and considering the past 3 years, much has changed, and many thread not updated, as HH forum not exactly the most active with current info.

OP does need to specify a bit more one's interest & budget. When coming also might help, and if able or wanting to self drive a few days, to see some sights away from 'town', which is actually kind of walkable, along with baht buses (local public transport (not taxis), which are inexpensive, and plow the main road.

Time of year matters, as the waterfalls, might even have water, instead of a trickle, though do pay attention to flash flood warnings. Yes, it varies that much at times.

Wildlife viewing, elephants+ at Kuiburi may interest, unless been on an African safari already, then it would bore anyone, unless wanting some comic relief.

If thinking a 'beach holiday', you may want to reconsider Hua Hin completely, as not a place I would plan a beach holiday, if wanting to play in the surf. Nice enough to look at though.

Thank you all for your kind words! I really appreciate them! Over ten years ago, I started my membership in this forum with a similar question. https://huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=243585#p243585 Since then, I've got so much useful help and information from all of you here, and I'm glad if I can give something a little back!

I have added a few more recommendations below:

In Hua Hin, I would say that every visitor should visit one of the classic piers for food at least once. The piers risk extinction, so the time for a visit might be limited. May I recommend the Rock Lobster Thermidor at Ketsarin, the longest restaurant pier in Hua Hin? The price for this dish is around 500 THB, but there are a lot of cheaper dishes, so the place is very affordable if you are on a budget and order wisely. If you instead decide to feast on loads of real hummer, the bill could cost you an arm and a leg.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/Dk1dHikUBRB8Ls3n9

Close to the restaurant piers and Hua Hin Fishing Pier is the Italian restaurant Mamma Mia - Cucina Italiana & Pizza. There's a great sea view from the front of the terrace on the third floor. Good food and decent prices.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/psmbkcyG8WVmec5U6

Another good Italian restaurant is Trattoria by Andreas, run by the well-known chef Andreas Bonifacio. Great food and the bill could be whatever you like, depending on what you eat and drink.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/69tG4rpwBonLJaEE7

If you get sick and tired on the long shallow beaches around Hua Hin, I can recommend a visit to Sai Noi Beach in Kao Thao. This beach is a small gem located 14 km south of the Clock Tower. On the beach, you can rent a sun bed and have cheap food. Or if you want something more fancy, visit Sanae Beach Club, or as I think it's called nowadays, Kiss Cafe & Beach Cuisine. In this place, you can use sun beds and two pools as long as you pay for your visit by ordering food and drinks. There used to be a minimal daily fee, but on the last few visits I've made, ordering some food was all they required for using their facilities. More expensive than the Thai food on the beach but still very decent prices.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/SooqHiBNeu7M421b9

If you like nightlife in bars and maybe with bar girls, there are at least three main areas to consider:
The Bintabaht area in the city centre:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/KrzhQc7J9a5yizgs6
Soi 80, or Soi Bacteria as some call the street:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/hBJB3mqjygQ7CjAw9
Soi 94 area, with, for example, WonderLand and all bars on the street down to Ban Khun Por Foodcourt:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/SLeGbh7oyA8k3TLq6

From the Khao Hin Lek Fai Viewpoint, you can get a great view of Hua Hin from six different viewpoints. It's a few years since I visited, but some say there are a lot of monkeys nowadays, so keep your belongings close. Did I say I'm not a fan of monkeys? :guns:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/ERYQtg7asJciU48Y6

If you prefer a good pool instead of the beach, I can recommend Hua Hin Sportcenter 94. It's open daily, with a nice large pool and a small gym. The entrance fee is 50 THB a day for the pool or gym, which is 100 THB if you want to use both. You can buy a monthly membership for 500 THB for the pool or gym or 1000 THB for both. There's a good restaurant there with both Thai and Western dishes. The prices are very decent! Their speciality is "Swedish Husmanskost", but I promise there's a dish there for everyone there! In the high season the place can be busy, but this period I can almost guarantee that you can find a sun bed to your liking. The place is very laid back with a friendly atmosphere. Some go there for exercise daily, and some only enjoy a Chang and some food in the sun.
