Top Nazis were charged, convicted and hanged for:
"CRIMES AGAINST PEACE: namely, planning, preparation, initiation or waging of a war of aggression, or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances, or participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment of any of the foregoing.â€
Is Thailand a political timebomb?
Sorry for the late response but this is new news to me... Nicely put in the last paragraph too gaijin and the Bush-Blair buddies certainly seem intent on making everyone on the planet despise the West and particularly UK/US. Foreign policy? That means we go about beating people up and telling them it's for their own good, right?
I mean... latest Darwin award winner must surely go to the Queen for the knighting of Salman Rushdie? Quite unbelievably bad bit of PR for ANYWHERE let alone the UK.
Perhaps next they'll make Harold Shipman a saint or introduce Bin Laden as the new UN special peace envoy to win back some kudos ?
And people are worried about leaving the uk? Hell, i'm worried about people knowing i'm FROM the uk after the bun fight these buffoons have started.
Right, i feel much better now i got that off my chest.

Welcome aboard Gunner, even if that means you're an Arsenal fan?
Love him or hate him, Rushdie is a highly respected and influential author. The award was merited.
It would be a sad day when any thought of PR or how such an award would be perceived by ignorant medieval religious fanatics was allowed to determine what the UK can and can't do.
It would akin to bowing down to fascism, just swap the swastika for a burkha and you're just about there.
If we chose to live our lives like that, it wouldn't be worth living.

timebomb
well said caller.
these fanatics have always hated the western ways so thats nothing new.
i agree that a lot of foreign policy is a little overly forceful but do we let these rebellious dictatorships hold sway over the civilised world?
what happens when these natons do get hold of nweapons of mass destruction? especially when they are so heavily influenced by the mad mullahs.
knighting salman rushdie is an issue for us as a nation & not to be condemned or criticised by a bunch of murderous crackpots.
i will never be worried about people knowing that i am from the uk because i'm proud to be british. what makes me less proud are people that criticise our right to freedom of speech & our way of living.if the rantings of these fanatics upset you so much then live their way of life, in their hypocritical, medieval & misguided societies.

Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
