I've just been listening to the Thai Football Podcast (in English) - a programme that yours truly has been invited to speak on, several times.
This week's programme threw up an interesting piece of trivia. Buriram Utd have 'claimed' their 9th league title this season, but it's a lie. The first league title was won by Buriram PEA. In that same season, Buriram, who went on to become Buriram Utd won the 2nd Division.
So the next time you see somebody proudly wearing 9 stars across their back, you now know its a lie. Shame on you Buriram Utd .
Its a bit like Man City claiming to have won the Premier League 21 times.

Re: Thai Football 2023/24
Piss ups and breweries comes to the fore again.
There has been a sudden realisation that the Thai League has run out of time to play its 2 showpiece fixtures at the end of this season i.e. The Revo League Cup Final and The Chang FA Cup Final. They have been planned to be played right in the middle of the forthcoming International Break.
I'm not being funny, but International breaks are usually planned at least a year in advance, so how can the Thai football hierarchy not know? This entire season in Thailand has been a series of stops and starts. It has been a farce. I personally love live football, but have been caught out twice this season by last minute changes to the routine, and have missed my fix of football.
This now means that while the rest of the Thai League are enjoying their close season break some teams will have to continue training for an extra month until a suitable date to play their cup finals arrive. Only in Thailand.

Re: Thai Football 2023/24
Today was the long awaited Chang FA Cup Final, and in my opinion, another VAR travesty. The T2 underdogs were leading 1-0, when Bangkok Utd were both gifted a penalty, and Kanchanaburi had a player sent off. Even then, the underdogs took the game the full 120 minutes, before losing a penalty shoot out.
