Maybe not a car park then. The metalwork I was presuming was being prepared to strengthen the car par surface is being used to strengthen the retaining wall between land and lake.

Very little activity on the carbuncle these days. The more I look at it, the more I'm convinced the next move will be to install giant window frames all of the way around. However, all they seem to be doing these days is tarting up the shoddy work they have done until now e.g. shaving unsightly lumps of concrete off upright pillars, etc.

The retaining wall on what I hope will be a car park is progressing, and should be complete in a couple of days.

False ceiling is going in, but still no clues as to what it is yet.

Retaining wall (not the prettiest) is in.

Oh dear! The one recognisable feature of the carbuncle for many months now has been the massive wheelchair friendly ramp to gain access. It now looks as if that part of my vision is about to be destroyed. At very best now, there will be a step onto a ramp, but I suspect it will be several steps :?

Progress still very slow on the carbuncle, although I have spotted some very large floor tiles waiting to be laid. My fear that the entrance wheelchair ramp was about to disappear were unfounded. Yes, most of it has been made into steps, but there is still a ramp down one side.

At the far end of the lake, the large play area has now been grassed, and is looking very nice.

The building which had shop front sized windows is looking as if it will be a restaurant or café. There is an industrial sized extractor hood at the rear of the building.

A very poor photo, but they are now lining the internal walls of the carbuncle with what looks like wooden trellis. I presume something will go on to the trellis (rest of the false wall).

I still haven't got a clue what it is yet.

This is now open for business, looks like a cafe, possibly restaurant type setup. Will report back if I am ever at the bay after 11am (highly unlikley).

Sorry, I missed this post. Yes, no problem at all. They even had the ministry truck there a few days back buying the black lipped variety off anglers.

It was being heavily over-fished for a few weeks whilst people could make cash out of their catch, although there were still plenty being caught yesterday.

Yes, I saw people sitting around the grounds yesterday - looked as though it could have been some sort of pre-opening publicity photo-shoot. I didn't see the sign yesterday.

OMG, we thought we'd try it tomorrow lunchtime, but when doing my usual pre-visit investigations, I came across this:

I am really against paying an admission fee for any restaurant, even more so when it lists itself as a café. However, our intention is to eat there, so we're certain to get our admission fee back. We will still give it a go.

Yes, but very little information. I was hoping for at least a menu, and definitely nothing about the admission charge.

If you look it up on Google maps there's a statement from the owner saying I quote :
