With this new "Sports Package" I have, I get to see a hell of a lot of American Sports - many on replay due to the time difference. Have to say though, I'm really struggling with the "Football" and Baseball. Christ, people say we need to speed up rugby!!
I'm sure it's the case that I don't understand the sports fully..... I shall endeavour though, I do after all bitch at others regarding F1 and Rugby!!

Baseball I think you can compare the time and action to Cricket. It's a "get a sandwich and cold beer and settle in" type thing to watch. NFL becomes interesting when you understand the rules and can spot the infractions, like you can do with Rugby and I still cannot for the most part. When you can do that the time goes by much quicker and gaps between plays don't seem that extreme.
Having said that, no where will you find continuous action like you do in Rugby.

The ex-Wales winger made international headlines when he quit rugby to pursue a new career in American football in January.
He had been one of Wales' star players, scoring 14 tries at international level, before making the "painstaking" decision to join the NFL's international player pathway (IPP).
The gamble paid off when he secured a three-year deal with reigning Super Bowl champions the Chiefs in March.
But despite his contract, Rees-Zammit has no guarantee of a space on the Chiefs' final roster - and will need to prove himself at one of a number of pre-season games in the coming days.
Before NFL rosters are cut to 53 players, every team in the NFL plays a series of pre-season games, where fringe players are given a chance to shine.
It is during these pre-season games that Rees-Zammit is expected to run out for the Chiefs.
The first is Saturday at 19:00 ET (00:00 BST), when the Chiefs will play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville, Florida.

Can't say I've managed to get into the sport as of yet, but I'll give it another go - lot's of US Sports on the system I now have and I'm all over the place with regards to sleeping and waking times!!
Keeping with American Sports, this report was posted earlier on the BBC - again, not a "high interest sport" for me, but it's not quite the simple "hit the ball with a bat" take that many have...
Not a huge "window" to pitch to etc. etc., but hell, how does the Umpire accurately judge this type of pitch?

The few games I watched everyone looked rusty.....everyone! Starters don't play in pre-season games except in rare exceptions. That usually means the first few games they simply are not in game condition. It showed.

Shohei Ohtani created baseball history by becoming the first player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season.
The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar needed one stolen base and two home runs to achieve the feat and ended the night with 51 home runs and 51 steals in a 20-4 win over the Miami Marlins.
Ohtani stole third base in the first inning to hit the first part of the record.
He then recorded his 51st steal before smashing a 49th home run of the season in the sixth inning, tying a Dodgers' record for most home runs in a season set by Shawn Green in 2001.
Ohtani then made it 50 home runs in the next inning to become the first player to record the 50-50 feat.
"To be honest, I'm the one probably most surprised," Ohtani said.
"I have no idea where this came from, but I'm glad that I performed well today."
The 30-year-old Japanese player joined the Dodgers on a 10-year $700m (£527m) contract in December - the biggest deal in the sport's history - which made him one of the highest-earning athletes in the world.
Ohtani has played 866 MLB games, the most among all active players to have never played in the post-season until now, after the Dodgers made the play-offs for a 12th straight year.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said: "While Shohei Ohtani has been a groundbreaking player for many years, his latest feat as the first 50-50 player in the history of Major League Baseball reflects not just his amazing power-and-speed talent, but his character, his drive, and his commitment to all-around excellence.

I'm sure it is an incredible feat in Baseball terms, but basically he's being paid just over a million quid a week over 10 years for doing it!! 
Oh to be good at hitting a round ball with a round stick and run quickly in a circle (with the occasional break)....
