^Yes, you’re way north. Isn’t that near the RAF base at Lossiemouth?
I was there once many years ago but before the days of Wetherspoons.

These 10 countries have the cheapest pints in the world

Uzbekistan - 70p
China - 90p
Madagascar - £1
Vietnam - £1.02
Ukraine - £1.06
Belarus - £1.07
Philippines - £1.25
Colombia - £1.28
Azerbaijan - £1.29
Kazakhstan - £1.34

Whilst the UK can often be very expensive, our local Wetherspoon’s must be one of the cheapest!!

Vietnam Excise Tax Law: Proposed Hikes ... efing.com)

The Vietnamese government is reportedly mooting raising a consumption tax on alcoholic beverages to 100% by 2030.

The tax, applied to a range of luxury goods and non-essential items, is currently 65% and affects beer and strong liquor, according to a report by Reuters.

A proposal, which is in draft stages, by the ministry of finance suggests raising this to 70%-80% by 2026 and 90%-100% by 2030.

In the proposal, seen by Reuters, the ministry said: “Alcoholic drinks and beer prices will increase by 20% in 2026, compared with 2025”, and added that prices would continue to increase by 2%-3%, depending on inflation.

“Levying high tax rates is necessary to help reduce consumption of alcoholic drinks,” it added.

I think Thailand will aim to do the same under the current regime.

Those are excellent beers, but I don’t see them anymore.

Came across another locally brewed IPA. This is a Brewing Project production by Thongpradit (ทองประดิษฐุ) brewery In Chiangmai. All of the brewing project beers are now made in Thailand by Thai Spirit Industries in Chachoengsao. The idea is that small regional breweries can get national recognition and distribution. I bought this at the Gourmet Market at The Mall, Korat.

Since I was in Thailand back in May, it looks like a new beer I tried then has disappeared from shelves, well in Tesco anyway. I was recommended the Carabou dark brew by my brother in law so I tried it. Asked in Tesco yesterday and the lady said "cancelled", does anyone else buy this? if so has it been stopped?

Was in Edinburgh pubs during the festival and standard price in most pubs (didnt do spoons) was £6.80 for a pint of Tennents. My local pub on Ayrshire coast are currently doing pints of Tennents and Coors for £2.00.

Edit… I am using an ipad and it doesnt embed the text quotes when submitted. Guidance on quotes refer to a Pc.
