It is, thinking about going to HH Hospital as not happy that it's an estimate that will rise for sure on the final bill, was given a first estimate of 50k in the surgery. Already paid 7k then BKK say it's 69K for this first lens, that's a 50% increase on the first estimate, I can see this spiralling out of control as BKK hospital seem to be calling the shots

Apparently I have 40% cataract coverage.
That's sad to hear. I paid, I think, 52k, for my 1st cataract, and more for the 2nd, as I have an astigmatism, meaning I had to have a special lens made for the irregular shape. I recall the cost being about 59k. Dr. Pairat can fix astigmatisms as well, but not mine, too many war wounds.
But the main factor for me using Dr. Pairat, was one of trust. I have had various issues with my eyes going back to my mid twenties, when I had to take 2 months off work as a consequence of an eye full of ulcers, thankfully, around the periphery, that resulted in me having to wear glasses for 5 years before the scars all healed. Sadly, they returned from time to time.
I also agree about the metta eye centre, which I visited. Which has an excellent reputation, and I believe is linked to the National eye centre/hospital. But trust in Dr. Pairat won the day. You could also consider the Rutnin eye hospital, at the top of Asoke, which is a recognised centre of excellence.
