I made it to Sunrise this morning and was impressed, the small English breakfast was plenty for me and Twinings tea as well:

Looks quite OK, although the sausage looks more like a Kinder egg, and a continental style potato hash fritter. Two eggs instead of one that BB mentioned; they're spoiling you, Ambassador!

If you look back on my post, you will see that I ordered a medium breakfast, but received a small. I can definitely see 2 eggs.

Steve G ordered a small breakfast and was given two eggs. You ordered a medium breakfast and were given two eggs but one of everything else. So I assumed screw up in the kitchen on your order, as I had looked at your post and you clearly said: the difference being small you get 1 of everything, medium you get 2 and large you get 3. So that wasn't correct either.

Thread closed from my side.

Just to clarify, the 2 of everything was hash brown, sausage and bacon. 2 eggs and 2 toasts were standard.

Apologies if you were misled.

Another new kid on the block, Crusoes, have been advertising on FB. Situated in the alley opposite Pats Place, I drove past last night so only had a quick glimpse but it looked a nice open air stylish place.

One offer on FB is 2 sausages, 2 bacon, omelette and tomato for 150 Baht with free tea or coffee including refills with every breakfast set. There are other options on the menu, eg 2 bacon, 1 sausage, 2 eggs, beans, hash browns, tomato, mushrooms, 2 toast, tea or coffee, 220 Baht.

And one for the spud thread they are advertising meals, eg chicken kiev with a side of potato wedges................

What is the car parking situation please? The last 3 times I've tried to go to Pats I have ended up going straight past because of lack of parking - I'm sure I will have been down that alley looking for parking, but nothing there.

This morning I was at Shirley restaurant which is now in the location of what was All In Hua Hin behind the old shopping mall in the centre of town.
This was their smallest English breakfast but surprisingly good considering that it was a very reasonable 140bt with a hot drink and a real pork sausage.
They have a whole range of breakfasts from under a 100bt to about 250bt.

To me, the staple diets of a Proper UK fry up and bacon and black pudding...and at a stretch fried bread and mini potato waffles
Where would suggest that include these..
Do any of the 5* hotels buffets include black pudding as could treat myself once a month
Thanks

^When I was doing contract work, I spent over ten years of my life living in hotels around the world and I don't remember ever seeing black pudding on a hotel buffet, ( outside of the UK/Ireland ).
Apart from that, I might try a hotel buffet one morning in Hua Hin just to see how it compares to the budget options.

I wouldn't bother Steve. From what I've seen, most Thai hotel buffets consist chilled eggs, plastic sausages and ham, a few Thai dishes, maybe a bun or croissant and toast. Pretty miserable in my opinion. However, you do come across the occasional surprise.

I know what you mean but I was thinking of somewhere like the Railway restaurant in the Centara just to see what they can do.
I'm sure it's not cheap but it's probably no more than what I pay for an average meal when I'm in Luxembourg!

I have heard really good things about the breakfast at the Railway restaurant in the Centara from friends who have stayed there. We were invited to join them once, but there is a dress code for breakfast - one friend was thrown out one morning. I finished with dress codes when I finished eating in wardrooms, so we never went.

I think the dress code was when it was Sofitel though. Not sure if it is still the case.
