Looks like pretty much all of the YouTube MP3 rippers are dead. After trying most of them for a song I couldn't find anywhere on torrents or Soulseek, I finally found one that did the job: https://ytmp3converter.online/

This worked for me just now.

↑ just tried, and it only downloads in 128kbps, which doesn't sound great on a good speaker or earbuds. The one I mentioned will rip YT music vids to 320kbps MP3s. Most people probably won't notice, but I am a bit of a music/sound freak!

A strange one tonight. Trying to download a movie from my usual source, yts.mx tonight with my VPN switched on. It would not let me continue until I signed up for their own freebie VPN.

I switched to yts.rs, and all was well.

I just looked at yts.mx and I can download without this popup with my usual VPN service enabled. I used DuckDuckGo web browser.

I certainly would never be told whose VPN I must use. I think they maybe recognise the usual IP blocks that your VPN provider uses and blocks them.

Anyone else?

Likewise, no such popups here or VPN prompts, could be a browser issue. I use Brave which blocks pretty much everything.
