I had a look at the Sealion 6 earlier in the year and it's a good option if you want to drive long distance.
Out of interest Steve, have you priced up the solar installation and is it for car only or for general use?

^I got quoted 150,000bt for a 3kw system from PEA which is basically for the car but will be connected to the house as well.
Having said that, they're being very slow actually delivering so might be going elsewhere soon.
It seems that a lot of solar is being installed around Hua Hin at the moment.

That sounds excellent payback. With my current fuel consumption, payback would be in 3 years. It sounds like an excellent move.

You probably do more kilometres than many, but even allowing for a longer payback period that’s still pretty good.

Happy new year to the EV owners on this forum from the child miners in the Congo and elsewhere. Isn’t virtue signalling wonderful?

My BEV doesn't use any cobalt, having LFP battery, but I'm sure your phone & laptop battery does. Along with any other battery run devices you have.

Hypocrisy - the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform.

I don't know if relevant to you SteveG, but driving back through Pranburi this afternoon (close to Global House. same side) there was a shop front displaying 'EV Solar Charging'. or something similar. It certainly read as though they specialised in what you are going to do.

I'll have a look next time I'm in Thailand.
I've seen self contained solar carports sold elsewhere which isn't a bad idea if you have the space.

I saw it, and thought of you. I was driving home, so I only saw it as I went past. I sincerely hope I'm not wasting your time.

I’d have thought being a Chinese company the LHG (or her husband) would have invested in them?

At this rate BYD will probably be number one before the end of the decade!!
