I’ve watched the scene numerous times and I’m absolutely certain he never intended to hit the opponent, he was just venting his frustration at being pulled back. Definitely in the “old days” where there’s no intent then a yellow card would have been the maximum penalty - these days who knows?

Well that’s the conundrum - my view is that with intent and no contact it’s a sending off, without intent it isn’t. Yes it wasn’t pretty to watch and from some angles it looks far worse, but from the angle that I gauge there was no intent, it’s not a red card - I’m sure some will disagree?

Otherwise you could have players throwing punches at each other, missing(easily done) and then claiming they had no intent to make contact.
Far better and more sensible to simply outlaw any such violent actions, intent or not.
For me it's a red and I think the law needs to be clear on that and applied appropriately.
It’s good to see one of the “small” teams doing well - Nottingham Forest are certainly performing above their expected level, which is a huge reflection on all those at the club. Unless they do a Leicester of 2015/16, I doubt they’ll finish the season in their current 2nd position, but it would be good to see them qualify for Europe above some of the supposed “big” teams.
Elsewhere, Liverpool continue scoring goals for the fun of it - difficult to see any of the chasing pack catching them, but let’s see!!

Well we knew United and Spurs are currently pretty shit at the moment. Saving grace for Spurs is we haven't had any first team central defence or goalkeeper for a little while... excuse!
But what has happened to Chelsea? Since sitting pretty in 2nd place and Maresca saying "we are not in a title race", they've taken just 1 point from Everton, Fulham and Ipswich. It's as if the players wanted to prove him right asap.
