New "first-class" bus service from Don Mueang to Hua Hin

Post by buksida »

State-run Transport Co will launch a first-class bus service from Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports to Hua Hin and Pattaya on March 8.

Managing-director Atthawit Rakchamroon said on Tuesday there would be four round trips daily between Don Mueang airport and Pattaya. Each trip was 162 kilometres and would take two-and-a-half hours. The fare would be 155 baht.

There would be two round trips daily between Don Mueang airport and Hua Hin district in Prachuap Khiri Khan, a distance of 216km per trip. The fare would be 200 baht each way and would take three-and-a-half hours.

There would be four round trips between Suvarnabhumi airport and Pattaya. Each trip was 127km and would take two hours, and the fare would be 122 baht.

Tickets would be on sale in the passenger terminals of both airports, Mr Atthawit said.

No mention of where it starts in Hua Hin and the website doesn't allow you to book anything from Hua Hin

Not sure what's meant by 'first class bus service' but there's still the regular buses from the bus terminal by Hua Hin airport to and from Suvarnabhumi.

They have a website but the last time I had anyone staying with us who wanted to get tickets we couldn't get it to work (it kept showing that there were no places available, no matter what time they chose) so I just drove them to the bus terminal where they got tickets no problem. There were loads of seats available at different times, according to the diagram they showed them of the options they could choose from.

This is a new service apparently running to Don Mueang starting on March 8 with two trips per day.

The VIP bus to Swampy is a separate service, though people have documented issues with online booking: viewtopic.php?t=22325&start=499

Thank you buks, the website is available in English and looks quite navigable. I will probably try the service to Don Mueang late next month.

The URL's 'tcl' is with a letter 'l' not a figure '1' which I first tried due to my morning blurry eyes.

Why not just click the link?

Because I'm me. 8)

I didn't see it, actually.

I tried to check prices but all I got was 'trip is not found.' Maybe you have to create an account before you can use the site. Bit silly though.

Likewise. I didn't expect it to work properly; the other bus to Swampy has been running for more than a decade, and their booking website still doesn't function half the time. Thai IT 4.0 ... :duck:

Thai programming at its best!
At least on the english website you cannot finish a booking.
Their line support is same useless. I asked for Don Muang to HuaHin, first I was told it not exists. Then they mentioned wrong times. Later I was told there is no bus to Cha-Am, only to HuaHin. After that no more reply.

update:
I could book on their website in thai language. very few payment options, no QR code. I decided for 7-11.

I flew (domestic) into Don Mueang this evening. As I exited the baggage hall and turned right to pick up my taxi, I spotted the ticket booth. Very hard to miss in shocking pink. :D
