Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
As we would say in the UK, it’s raining cats and dogs where we live and looking at the sky I’d guess it’s fairly widespread
Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
It's eased in the last few minutes on Soi 94, but rumbles in the sky still fairly prominent.

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
I was at Immigration this morning to pick up my new yearly extension and while I was there it went incredibly dark and then the heavens just opened. Had thunder, lightning, the lot.
After they put the new extension in I stayed inside for a while waiting for it to ease up. When it didn't, about ten minutes later I made a run for it to the car and got well soaked in the time it took me to get from the building to my car (probably about ten seconds).

I would think it was as well that you ran when you did. That car park is reknown for its flooding.

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Should have plenty of water to waste during Songkran, as been raining here past couple days, and last week a couple days. Last night a heavy downpour and light show. Pretty sure all our water tanks are or will be topped up after today. Heavy rainy now.
We're down @ PKK municipality area, 100 kms south of HH. Welcomed rain, and should knock down any of the remaining smog, which was knocking on 100 AQI the week before.

NNT- National News Bureau of Thailand
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a weather forecast warning of hot, humid conditions combined with widespread thunderstorms across the country. Heavy rain is expected over 60 to 70 percent of the southern region, raising concerns about flash flooding. Thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning are likely in parts of the North, Central, East, and Bangkok areas through April 17, with coastal provinces also facing rough sea conditions.
Temperatures continue to rise across upper Thailand, with highs ranging from 34 to 39 degrees Celsius. Despite the heat, isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially in the Central region and Bangkok. In the capital and surrounding provinces, around 40 percent of the area could see storms accompanied by gusty winds. Residents have been advised to avoid open spaces, weak structures, and large trees during storms, especially if engaging in outdoor activities during the Songkran holiday.
In the South, strong southeasterly winds are increasing rainfall along both coasts. The eastern side, including Songkhla, Surat Thani, and Narathiwat, is forecast to experience the heaviest downpours, while the western coast, including Phuket and Krabi, will also see substantial rainfall. These areas face a risk of flash floods and runoff. Sea conditions remain hazardous, with waves reaching up to one meter near the shore and over two meters in storm-affected areas.
Air quality across upper Thailand remains stable, with dust and haze levels ranging from good to moderate due to the increased rainfall. With changing conditions expected to persist, residents across affected regions are being urged to stay alert and prepare for sudden disruptions throughout the day and into tomorrow.
