Buriram are Chang FA Cup Winners

Scores.jpg

If my calculations are right, this means my team, Ratchaburi have qualified for Asia next season.

This has been a bucket List item for me since 1973. I remember watching Leeds dump Plymouth out of the FA Cup 2 - 1. In the matchday programme there were details of a trip into Europe for Leeds fans. I read that, and thought what an experience/adventure it would be travelling overseas to support my team. Of course, being a Plymouth Argyle supporter, that was never going to happen. Now 52 years on, it looks as though it might happen with Ratchaburi - Asia instead of Europe. Not everybody's cup of tea, but I'm over the Moon. What an adventure.

I've done it with England, but a lowly club side should be brilliant.

That's a pity, that would have been great fun!

I've seen Chelsea play twice in Bkk, does that count? :D

I'm devastated, but they did this to Muangthong last season. I think it might depend upon North Korea sending a team, which is unlikely. The fan pages are already talking about a qualifier against Persib Bandung - I guess its a case of wait and see.

Kick-off in today's Revo League Cup Final has been delayed. I presume rain is the problem.

Confirmed - bad weather. It was a great leveller for Lamphun against Ratchaburi in the semis - will the weather be responsible for the upset of the season against Buriram?

They kicked off 45 minutes late, but maybe not such a leveller today. Lamphun have had their centre forward red carded after just 5 minutes.

Not unexpected, the ref announced 7 minutes of added time, but Buriram scored in the 98th and 103rd minute of Fergie time.

Yes, yes, yes. This could be a 52 year old dream coming true. Ratchaburi Football Club have been asked to submit a registration for the AFC2 - Asia's equivalent of the European Losers Cup.

Who knows, if Spurs could win the European version, playing as badly as they did, Ratchaburi might even have a chance :D. It can't be any worse than the last time they qualified (during Covid, and it was played behind closed doors) - 0 points.

So happy

There are a few that are genuinely interested, and it helps to keep me up to date on something very close to my heart here in Thailand. I love live football, and I love football tourism. Nothing will make me happier than Ratchaburi getting into the Asian Losers Cup. The fake news that I've since deleted had already seen me planning trips to South Korea, Japan and Malaysia. OK, my euphoria only lasted about 10 minutes before I debunked it, but fingers crossed that it will happen.

No official announcement from Ratchaburi Football Club yet, but social media is buzzing with the fact that Ratchaburi are taking the place of a North Korean team in the Asian Losers Cup. This is honestly a 52 year dream coming true.

We just need to hope the draw is kind to us, and we get to play at some extra special stadiums.

I hope this isn't a repeat of yesterday's fake news. However, I'm hearing it from many reputable sources this time, including independent sports pages, with nothing to gain by spreading untruth.
