Kowtha restaurant Tha Yang

Post by STEVE G »

My partner found this place online and it's a bit of a hidden gem.
It's just north of Tha Yang, so a 50km drive but it's just off the highway and so pretty easy to get to.
Basically you eat on a large balcony overlooking a bend in the river and a forest, I fed three people for 1,300bt but easily enough food for four.

If you haven't got navigation, there are signs from the second turnoff on the left after the PTT station just north of Tha Yang.

Steve, I'm going stir crazy at the moment, and am looking for a day out somewhere, and that looks lovely. I've been looking at photographs. and came across this one https://maps.app.goo.gl/upETKKuEPeC51WD89

As you will be aware, I have very limited mobility at the moment. Looking at the photo, it looks as though the car park leads straight into the restaurant. Are there any steps involved please? If there aren't, that could be a great adventure for Monday.

We've eaten there a few times, my wife is from Tha Yang and Steve is correct on all in our opinion.

I seem to remember about two steps but with a ramp as well.
You can see it on one of those photos in your link.

I was interested in what looks like a nice venue, so I followed the Google link and can just about understand it's somewhere in Phetchaburi, but the Google map (in Thai) loses me. I had to copy and paste the link into Chrome so I could get a translation. Is it KOWTHA Cafe & Restaurant, I think so, and if so couldn't a name have been mentioned? Given a name I could have searched for it without being able to read Thai!

I'm interested in the fact that HHH is currently being touted as somewhere not just for the few to chat to each other like they're typing private messages; the input of the many is the aim.

I'm not personally attacking either of you, but we know these messages are read by many and we like to be helpful (BB you lead from the front on this); I'm thinking of the continued existence of HHH as a public forum, and that's got stuck to the front of my mind.

If this is KOWTHA I'm looking forward to seeing it, looks lovely.
