Marina Bar & Restaurant

Post by Big Boy »

The subject establishment on Poonsuk Road was recommended for its excellent food, so we thought we'd give it a go last night. Only 2 of 6 meals were anywhere near edible, and even then the portion size was abismal.

Of note:

- The children took the easy option of cheeseburgers. They were served with 6 french fries on each plate. Neither burger had more than a bite taken out of them. I initially thought it was just kids doing what kids do - no, I tried a bite of one of the burgers, and could feel my arteries blocking up immediately - the taste was ghastly.
- My son-in-law had Pahd Thai (spelling?). He likened the noodles to elastic bands - another uneaten meal.
- My wife had Lap Moo (spelling?). She likened the experience to sucking on a lemon. There was so much lemon, it killed the other flavours.
- My son and I thought we'd chance our arms and try their banana pancakes as a sweet (didn't think they could do much wrong with that). The pancakes were basically a dollop of dough, and the banana consisted of 3 slices of banana each on the side of the plate.

All in all an unpleasant experience that we will not be repeating.

Huh? :?

That would be Lap Ngoo (sp??), Norseman. Moo is pig/pork.

Or, should we just proceed to nc?

BB, should it be Larb Moo or Gai

I love the dish, is normally done in either beef, pork or chicken.
