need help

Post by Name Taken »

Hello,
I have recently separated from my Thai wife because we no longer get along well together and i do not want to continue supporting her and her 3 children that she has had from 3 different Thai men. She is also a former bargirl btw. I want to get a divorce from her. I had to go to Chiang Mai to get a new passport because she has my old passport and she is not willing to give my old passport back to me, she also has alot of my personal belongings that are very valuable to me and that i would very much like to get back in my possession. THIS FEELS LIKE A NIGHTMARE! I do not understand why some expats living here or that have lived here in Thailand advocate and encourage Thai's to target and commit crimes against other expats(foreigners"farangs"). I guess theft is common in countries where there are alot of impovreshed people. I appreciate any helpful and informative replies so please do not flame.

that's quite a statement.

get some representation and try to mediate something to get your stuff back. Good luck.

as far as not supporting her or her 3 children. (if none of them are yours)
do what the others did just walk away and don't pay.

It's not all that unusual for a Thai girl to hook up with a Falang and still have a husband or boyfriend she sees and gives money to.

But there are some good ones out there.

I just hope mine is one of them.

If you really didn't want to know the answer, why the hell did you ask me the question!!!

Well what I don't understand is why farangs get hooked up with bar girls because well know there only there for one reason. $$$$$ Salvage what you can and walk away...........far far away. :banghead:

It's basically only one thing you can do.
As long as you're married, you are entitled to have 50% of all belongings between you and your wife.

You have to go to the police and inform them about your situation. (They are quite used to situations like this), and will be able to help you.
At least they did help an Englishman I know, and he got his 50% back with their help. That includes the house + household effects after selling it.

I don't quite understand your statement:
Do some of us do this?
expats living here or that have lived here in Thailand advocate and encourage Thai's to target and commit crimes against other expats(foreigners"farangs")
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Well, you haven't been flamed yet, and I'm not going to start.

But... you married a bargirl with three kids by three different men. I could stop there really. But then you accuse expats of encouraging Thais to commit crimes against expats.

I suppose I sympathise with your situation in general terms, but I have to suggest that you're in that situation largely because of choices you've made freely?

Or is this a wind up? (Just asking, mind, just asking)

If it's not, I wish you the very best of luck.
This is the way

Have just had a peek at some of your previous postings. Either it's a wind-up, or you're a tosser.

Thanks for the helpful replies and advice. I do realize that i made a mistake by marrying a bargirl.

I don't know what a "wind up" is or means.
